One look and you might instantly recognise this famous little blue boat house extended towards the sea. Situated on the Swan River, the Crawley Edge Boatshed is indeed a very popular spot for pre-wedding and couple photoshoots. The boat house is believed to have been constructed in the early 1930s and has been refurbished many times since. With rich azure waters and a tiny blue gem of a boat house in the middle of nowhere, it is of no wonder that many couples find this spot to be enticing as their pre-wedding photoshoot location. Despite it being quite a challenging location to work with (with rocks at the shoreline and sometimes strong winds), pre-wedding photographers from WhiteLink, Avior Pictures, Chris Ling Studio and Signature Bridal deliver natural and scenic shots set against the iconic backdrop.

The Louvre is an architecturally-stunning museum and one of the world’s largest to boast. It is deemed a historical monument in Paris and one of the most visited places as well. More notably, The Louvre makes a spectacular and eye-catching centrepiece to any pre-wedding photo and as such is a very popular spot for couples looking to shoot in the city of love. On the one hand, while months like February can be easier for photoshoots with lesser tourists around, it can be quite cold due to the Parisian winters. On the other hand, during warmer months, it can get quite crowded to be able to get a decent shot around the popular area. If you are looking to have a romantic pre-wedding photoshoot in Paris, WhiteLink, Signature Bridal and Chris Ling Studio are experienced photographers who know exactly when and how the picture perfect shots can be captured.

Extending 1.8 kilometres across the Geographe Bay, the jetty is just a 2 and a half hours drive south of Perth and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Western Australia. While it costs AUD $3 for a day pass into the jetty, the natural beach at the shoreline provides for some really charming photos, with the quaint blue little jetty houses standing proud in the background. Annabel Law Productions and WhiteLink take incredible memorable snaps with the sand and the deep blue waters of the famous jetty in the background.

Only 25 minutes from the Perth Central Business District and 10 minutes from the Perth Domestic Airport, Swan Valley is known as the “valley of taste”. More than that, it is where unique photo opportunities are abound and the best time to visit the beautiful natural bush land would be between September to December, when wildflowers bloom and fresh produce are abundant. If you are looking for a photoshoot that is almost out of this world and something that is rarely done, why not give the Northern Lights in Sweden a shot. The Aurora Borealis is a spectacular display of flashes of coloured lights at up to a height of 150 miles in the sky. While the auroras occur throughout the day, they are only seen by the naked eye at night, and ideally an hour just before the conventional midnight (also known as magnetic midnight). The best period to capture the most dazzling and breath-taking shots of the auroras would be from February to March or August to November. While capturing the array of lights in the depth of the night can be a challenging task, Avior Pictures has managed to capture the full essence of the beauty of the auroras splashed across the engaged couple’s photos.

The antiquated towns of Fira and Oia in Santorini, Greece, have become extremely iconic for pre-wedding photoshoots and it is not hard to understand why. The charm of these little towns lie in the low-lying cubical houses made of local stones and lime-washed with volcanic ashes. Overlooking the Aegean Sea, Fira is a marriage of Venetian and Cycladic architecture, with white cobblestone streets, while Oia is a cliff-perched town with whitewashed walls sunken into the volcanic rocks and is particularly famous for theatrical and astonishing sunsets. Another iconic place in beautiful Santorini is the Black Pebble Beach of Kamari, as captured by Signature Bridal in the above pre-wedding photoshoot.

The Red and White Sand Dunes of Mui Ne, Vietnam, are Sahara-like formations of sand constantly shaped by the coastal winds. The almost surreal place is located right in our Asian region and would not break the budget for couples looking to shoot at a picturesque place, without the need to head to the Middle East or Africa. Located four hours away from Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne is a coastal town spanning 15 kilometres along Vietnam’s southern coast. The midday sun at the sand dunes can warm the sandy mounds to unbearable heat and it is advisable to not be barefoot during this period. As captured by Signature Bridal above, the Sand Dunes make remarkable spots for exquisite pre-wedding photos.

Hokkaido is Japan’s second largest and northernmost island. While the winter cold can be harsh with temperatures dropping below zero degree Celsius and lakes being completely frozen, Hokkaido’s summer is neither too hot nor too humid. Autumn is the best season when many delicious seasonal food becomes available and the breath-taking autumn colours on the majestic mountains are seen. No matter the season, with its untouched nature and areas with quaint little towns, Hokkaido offers a homely and natural feel to its visitors and that can certainly be seen in the pre-wedding photos as done by WhiteLink and Chris Ling Studio.

Don’t want to use the Eiffel Tower as backdrop for your photoshoot in Paris? Why not capture your pre-wedding shots against these stunning and unique backgrounds instead – a carousel and a bridge. Carousels can be found all over Paris, appealing to both the young and the young at heart. More than just a fun ride, this particular carousel, the Le Carrousel De La Tour Eiffel, is one that is frequently seen in photographs, with the Eiffel Tower looming prominently in the background. A fun fact: this particular carousel runs on ‘renewable energy’! A portion of the power needed to operate this carousel is generated through “pedalling” the horses and other vehicles!

In addition, not far from the Eiffel Tower as well is the Pont Alexandre III. The Pont Alexandre III is not just any other bridge, it is regarded as the most ornate and extravagant bridge in the whole of Paris! The entire bridge is a spectacular architectural structure with exuberant Art Nouveau lamps, cherubs, nymphs and Pegasus at either ends. As seen in the pre-wedding photos by Signature Bridal and Chris Ling Studio, both of these distinguishable places are where memorable and enchanting pre-wedding photos can be taken.

Piazza San Marco, also known just as the Piazza or St Mark’s Square in English, is the principal public square of Venice, Italy. In addition, an extension of the Piazza known as the Piazzetta (the little “Piazza”) extends from the Piazza towards the gondola lagoon in the South East Corner. Piazza San Marco is the largest square in Venice and is the only one of its kind that holds the designation of “piazza”. The centrepiece of the Piazza is the magnificent and imposing St. Mark’s Basilica, the most famous church in the city, at the Eastern end of the square. Not only are the structures found in the Piazza famous, the flocks of pigeons found all over the square is signature of it as well, as seen in the pre-wedding photos by Chris Ling Studio.

Upon first look, The Ruins of St. Paul’s look like anything but ruins. A closer inspection, however, would reveal that this iconic and impressive structure is only a façade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei and the ruins of St. Paul’s College. Both building were destroyed by fire in 1835 and the façade is only what is left of them now. The façade measures 23 metres across and 26 metres high and features a stunning assortment of oriental decorative motifs, ranging from biblical images to Chinese characters and even several nautical motifs, integrating elements influenced from Europe, China and other parts of Asia.
The Venetian Macao is a 39 storey luxury hotel and casino resort and is the 7th largest building in the world by floor area. The hotel models after the Italian postmodern architectural style and looks especially stunning at night. Both The Ruins of St. Paul’s and The Venetian Macao make stunning backdrops for pre-wedding photos taken in the culturally rich city of Macau and Chris Ling Studio and WhiteLink deliver shots that perfectly capture their full glory.

Go all romantic and lovey-dovey with a pre-wedding photoshoot at the bridge rightly named Lover’s Bridge. The 196 metre long white cable-stayed pedestrian bridge, modelled after a sailing ship’s mast and rigging, got its name as Lover’s Bridge because it was launched on 14 February 2003, Valentine’s Day! It is well-known as a spot where one can view spectacular sunsets, and the bridge’s multitude of coloured lights also illuminate the structure at night, making the area a favourite with couples. Even for a day time pre-wedding photoshoot, as done by WhiteLink, the vibrant pure white bridge makes a striking appearance in the couple’s photos.
