Is 2-3 years between ROM and the actual wedding too long?
Hi all, just trying to get a feel of the general opinion on the duration between ROM and the actual wedding.
My gf is from Malaysia and we are thinking of doing our ROM next year before she applies for PR (And we can only apply for HDB after she gets her PR). However we only intend to hold the actual wedding when we get our hdb, which will be ard 2-3 years time. We are both very practical ppl and see nothing wrong with that. But some of her friends seems to have a different opinion.
Do you think its ok, or not ok? Is there any one of you doing the same? Thanks!

Nope. It's just the way Singapore govt has made things to be. I mean now BTO is 3 years minimum. Unless you want to spend money to rent a place which is $3000+ a month, which is a waste, just wait. Me and my boyfriend are too... so... yup...

Yup, jialing is right. I'm getting rom this month but only doing customary in 2014, as flat will only be ready by then.. No choice....

Hi everyone. Same here. I just had my ROM recently.... And only doing customary in 2015/2016, after flat is ready.
But many people asked, why we choose to have ROM now and not together with customary in 2015/2016.... hahaha

Is all personal choice. There is nothing wrong with getting ROM done first... as long as both parties are sure and committed.

Having ROM sometime before the customary is quite common these days especially in Singapore due to the way BTOs are being done. Just don't get pregnant before the customary haha
