We had our HK wedding last year (wife from HK) and ROM in Singapore around the same time.

But we will only be having our SG wedding at the end of this year. Is this odd?

yeah. i really think it's a personal choice. don't worry about it too much. it's what is customary.

I'm not sure if it's appropriate here but I'm just wondering for the ROM right, there's nothing traditional to do until the AD which is few years down the road right?

I think its personal choice. And of course both parents must agree too.. There are also other factors to consider. Like money.. Flat.. Ur preferred date and hotel..

It depends on what you want. and i agree with stanley, you should consider your budget and the place where you're gonna hold your wedding.
