Ala carte Wedding Services
I am planning my wedding next year and currently comparing rates from bridal boutiques. Most of the packages ranges starting from $3000 (minimum).
I am also worried about the bridal services provided by bridal boutiques as heard stories of how they under delivered as promised.
My friend had gone for Ala carte service which I find quite attractive and services and gowns she get looks nice too. Below are some ideas of how to plan the major services:
Gowns - go for local (rather than overseas) online gowns blogshop so that you could try on before buying. My friend get her gown (with alternation service). I have try the gowns in <Gown warehouse> and they looks good.
Photography - invited a friend who is interested in photography, can saved up to >$1K
Makeover - I have gone for trial session from Makeupwifstyle offering makeup services and looks
All these save up >$2k compared with bridal boutiques packages.

hihi, wow glad you all find this useful.
Think the bulk of the cost can be saved with photography service if you get someone (preferably friends) to do it. Usually professional photography service is ~$1.5k for full day shoot. I have quite a few friends doing photography, so no problem getting help. They also enjoy practicing the skills.
For Gowns, online one can indeed save up $$$ but need to make sure the one you bought have some reputations (otherwise the one mailed to you may not be the same). The gown I choose is from Gown warehouse.
For makeover, high end makeup artist charges ~$800- $1.5k. I find the high ends artist only charge $$$ for their names.
I went to Makeupwifstyle for the bridal trial session. Find their skills on hairstyling is good and I look natural and clean, not the thick thick type.

Hi, you can try google with word <gown online singapore> and a list of local online gown shop will appear for you. So far, i tried the gowns from A love Affair as recommended by my makeup artist from MakeupwifStyle. Rates are very reasonable for the quality gowns.
For makeup and hairstyle, I go for MakeupwifStyle. Their rates are value for $$ with their good quality of Makeup. I like especially the hairstyle they created for me and the hair accessories goes very well with my princess theme. Luv it!!

Hi ladies, i got all my wedding services on ala carte basis - eg. photography (amusephotography), video (ichiro), White gown (vera wang white purchase in NYC), make-up etc. Prices came out to be similar or slightly more expensive than a bridal package. However, you get what you want and quality is there. This is recommended for brides who are willing to spend more time on their researches and planning.
I have a Vera Wang White wedding gown to let go at S$2.5K. Just finished my wedding last month (march 2015). i bought this dress (in ivory white) from NYC and alteration done with their official boutique tailor. You can view the dress from this link: http://whiteever.pl/vera-wang-5/
Pm me if you are keen. I can provide more details to you. Cheers.
