I'm one of them because I find banquet too troublesome, any brides like me?

Me too that's why having a small one instead with only immediately families, very very close relatives (our parents' close silbings) and close/good friends.

Just wondering, will u feel sad or regret if there's no wedding banquet? Maybe down the road, looking back?
I'm also one of those who wish to just go ahead with a nice rom solemnization. But my mum and sister are telling me to do a simple dinner at least. I dun wish to spend money on a banquet actually.

Actually i have the same thoughts too to just have a nice and special ROM solemenization (I was thinking to have it at One Rochestor Park or Fort Canning etc) and have a simple lunch or buffet reception, invite only those closed relatives and friends. Of course customary rituals will be good as well. Cause I was thinking not worth to spend so much on dinner where I don't even know 50% of their names. I rather save the money to go for a good honeymoon, the close ones is more for informing and getting them to share your joy. I don't think there will be any regrets if you make the ROM a memorable one like decorating the place, adding in some of your ideas etc. At least the wedding can be a simple yet special one as I see too many people doing dinners and all, so this is a way of standing out too. hehe

(but of cos it depends on your parents at the end of the day, as both of our parents are quite open about it)

    Hi ladies,

I'm planning to have just a solemnisation. But do you know is there any schedule for that day besides signing of the marriage cert? Cuz most hotels put aside 3h for solemnisation so I was thinking what else to be done. Thanks!

    Hi!

Anyone of you out there skipped the banquet and after that felt that you should have done it after a while after marriage?

nowadays, everything becomes more and more expensive. which is why it is no longer a surprise that some couples really opt for just having ROM w/o banquet.

I think that's okay if you have problems with the budget.
