Red face Bluebay - Pre-wedding photoshoot in Korea

e started off without doing much research, wanted purely just to have a feel of the market by paricipating in the annual wedding event BOWS, way back in 2011.
What caught our attention to Bluebay is because I could say at that point of time, they were the only one which caters to couple pre-wedding PS in Korea (they have this gigantic poster of the previous couple who did in Korea in 2010)! Me, being quite a K-POP fan who has nvr been to Korea, find that it's pretty ideal!

So we walked to find out more about the package. Staffs were really friendly and quite a no of things are actually negotiable. I would say the price is pretty decent, but of course as a consumer, always do think about what are the inclusive and exclusive items. Bluebay is able to list those things down carefully. So thumbs up!

    BLUEBAY
A bridal studio based in Taiwan, but holding an office in Delfi Orchard (a mall with pretty much wedding-related stuffs). Location is fantastic since it is at Orchard. Always have somewhere to go after any appointment. There are a total of 3 staffs managing the shop locally, while photographers and make-up artists (MUAs) all based in Taiwan. My point of contact is Maggie (main IC for Singapore outlet)

    PACKAGES
Caters to a variety of destinations, you can always look at their samples and make a choice from it. Which means, they do know where are the ideal locations for your PS. Of course, they will be open to your suggestions too.

    PRIOR TO PRE-WEDDING PS EXPERIENCE
For all overseas project, you will get Kiwi and Baby as your photographer and MUA respectively. My light technician is XiaoE. We didn't really have much interactions with the team, unless you are the proactive kind to actually request for their contact so as to send them your ideal shooting style, hairstyle & miscellaneous stuffs. For me, basically is just liaising with Kiwi's assistant over email just few weeks before the trip to finalize on the need for translator and local driver.

As for dresses? 3 pieces - white gown, evening gown and cocktail dress. According to Maggie, they will bring in new designs quarterly. Some designs are special, while some can be pretty standard. Xiao Wen was of a great help in choosing our outfit for us. You get to wear a set of your own casual clothes too.
Just some personal experience, you will have to be proactive to contact Bluebay for appointment such as venue discussion (so that they can convey your thought to the people at Taiwan's side) and gown selection as your PS date draw nears. Or at least, ask and be sure of what is the appropriate timeline like during the 'after signing package - your actual PS day' period.

    PRE-WEDDING PS EXPERIENCE
The team of 3 (Kiwi, Baby and Xiao E) was very prompt in meeting with us the night before the shoot to finalize details for the next day PS. They were very prompt in turning up at our room the next morning too, getting ready for the make-up, as well as preparation of props and outfits into the car. What else can I say more? Make-up was great, shooting was great! The professionalism is there.

    POST PRE-WEDDING PS EXPERIENCE
It took about 3-4 weeks and the photos are ready for viewing! We were very glad that all the photos turns out better than what we expect kudos to the Bluebay team!

    Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I also just went to Korea for our Korea autumn photoshoot, and we were very pleased with the photos!

We had the freedom to choose the locations to shoot the photos, and we are pleased with the choice of gowns. Kiwi, the photographer, also provided good advice on the poses and location. We have seen our photos, and am very glad we chose bluebay!

My SO and I had our pre-wedding photoshoot in Korea in NOV 13. It was definitely a good choice to sign up the package with Bluebay Weddings! We signed up the package at vivocity during a roadshow. Part of the reason why we signed with Bluebay was the service and support they had provided and rendered to one of my girlfriend when they had pre-wedding photoshoot in Taiwan; it was fantastic! And of course, I also get to witness their actual day package with Bluebay. Needless to say, it was excellent!

Our photographer was Kiwi, MUA was Baby, and lightings assistant was Xiao E. I will like to comment that this combination is really the best! I guess that they had worked with each other for a long time, which explains the amount of understanding they had in each other. Our day started off with Baby helping us with our makeup! Her makeup skills are flawless! I turned from an ugly duckling to a fairy!! No kidding or exaggerating, I was really impressed with Baby’s skills. Kiwi’s was great as well! Whenever we are done with a venue, he will show us the photos which he had taken, and asked for our comments and what we want him to improve on for the remaining shots. Humble man indeed! Throughout the day, Baby and Xiao E were of great help to us. As it was autumn in Korea, we braved the coldness and to take the photos and they were just like our friends to us, helping us to keep us warm and happy throughout! This one day experience is definitely memorable for us all! Besides taking the actual photos, we also had fun taking some random shots together!

As a close to this review, I’ll like to extend my sincere thanks to Maggie, Xiao Wen (gown coordinator), Elsa (logistics coordinator), Kiwi, baby, and Xiao E! Four thumbs up for Bluebay’s service! Highly recommended for all BTB/HTB!

I bought the full package from blue bay, one main problem is that the grooms suits for actual day are quite hideous. Even my dad refused to take the suits that were offered for the fathers. We decided to get the suits elsewhere. Our package also includes florist service - corsages and bridal car decor. I am disappointed with the florist as most of the items I like requires additional fees and for additional items like bridesmaid posies, the prices are generally steeper that what I can find outside, and the florist is not keen to customise the posies to fit my budget. So I engaged another established florist for the additional items for half the price, I just hope the flower arrangements, posies and bouquets will gel together as they are designed by different florist.

Bluebay Pre-wedding Shoot in Taiwan (24-Feb-14)

Our first encounter with Bluebay was at a colleague's wedding - we thought the wedding photos were pretty good. We then went for a wedding road show near Dhoby Ghaut MRT and decided to sign up for a package with Bluebay after the rest failed to impress us. We opted for the photoshoot in Taiwan since it did not incur additional cost. Subsequently, we went down to their studio at Delfi Orchard twice for pre-shoot discussion and thoroughly impressed with their friendliness and professionalism, especially Maggie and Elsa.

We arrived in Taipei on a Saturday, 21-Feb with an overcast weather. We went down to their studio near Shuangliang MRT and was greeted by their friendly staff. They carefully went through the photoshoot details with us and suggested various locations depending on the scenery we would like for our photos. We were then ushered to try out the gowns. Bluebay has a large collection of bridal gowns and they update their gowns every quarterly, bringing in new designs. Their staff Olivia was there all the while to assist my Fiancée in trying out the gowns. She helped to select gowns based on our input and gave her opinion whether they are suitable. We were both satisfied by the dresses we selected.

On the day of photoshoot, we reached their studio at 0800hr for preparation. Took about 1 hour for makeup and dress up. The makeup artiste, Jia Ning, was very meticulous and accommodating. She seemed to know which hairstyle suits my fiancée and all the "照行” was done up to our expectation. We were then greeted by the photographer Gucci (zhuang Sir) and his assistant Ah Wei, both very friendly. We first went Yangmingshan in search of Sakura. We were initially disappointed as the driver and Gucci said we might not find many due to the rain the previous week. However, we were pleasantly surprised when Gucci managed to find some locations with pretty nice Sakura. Ah Wei was always looking after us and guiding us on our posture and adjusting our dress/shirt to look nice on photo. We then proceed to a mini waterfall, Black Forrest, Ta-Tun Flower Garden (大屯花卉農場)(NT800 per team), beach to take sunset and finally a Chinese Temple called Bao An Gong for night shoot. The qi pao my Fiancée wore was absolutely gorgeous in the backlight of the temple. Taking photos can be tiring but the bluebay team kept encouraging us and cheering us on. They even treated us to Taiwan famous 金牛角at the end of the shoot.

Thanks to good weather and the resourcefulness and professionalism of the bluebay team, many of the photos turned out so pretty that we had a hard time selecting them. We finally settled on 52 photos after 6.5 hours of grueling selection process thanks to Bluebay in making this photoshoot a memorable one.
