hi shinygal, for ease of coordination it's actually better to get a singapore photographer to go there with you and your hubby to be. of course the downside is that the cost will be higher since you will have to pay for the photog's airfare and expenses like lodging. there are some singapore photographers who have experience in taking shoots in hk.

good points of going to macau to find is that a wedding studio photog there will know the good places to take your shoots, and even let you guys in on nice places to shop, eat etc. if you can speak cantonese and coordinate with them on phone/email well, then go ahead with this option.

hope this helps, just sharing some previous experience in coordinating with overseas photograpy services for my pre-wedding shoot. :)

hi shinygal,
You could try to check the prewedding photoshoot we just recently taken in Macau and Hong Kong.
Hong Kong - http://histriphertrip.blogspot.com/2011/03/our-trip-hong-kong-pre-wedding.html
Macau - http://histriphertrip.blogspot.com/2011/03/our-trip-macau-pre-weddingprenuptial.html

I could recommend you the photographers who took our pics there.

By the way, we're not from Singapore. Me and my fiancee are from philippines and we didn't have dificult time communicating with them since they speak good english.

hello! any great place to have a shoot in HK? planning on doing our ps there

I am a BTB, also planning to engage a photographer in HK/macau.

I have done some research, and I hope to share my experience with you so we can benefit from each other's experience. I am intending to go over to HK/macau to sign a package in early january. I wouldn't feel comfortable ordering a package from online unless I have physically seen their shops and works and the service people. Once deposit is down, its gone!!!

These are the following websites I have found that have macau photos in their website:

http://www.vision007.com/ (Based in guangzhou)
http://feiwedding.com/
http://www.vinsy.com/
http://www.cloud9.com.hk/
http://www.i-mansha.com/
http://www.beautyhera.com.hk/
http://www.3vwed.com
http://album.blisswedding.com.hk/annie&benjamin/
http://www.mcwedding.hk/
http://www.atstudio.info/
https://www.facebook.com/vivibride.hk
http://coolwedding.com.hk/

So far I shortlisted a few that I really like: (In order of preference)
1) Fei Wedding
2) Modern Classic
3) Vision007

If you see anymore sites, do update me!
Also, I wanted to ask if you want to go together to see in January? More people, more bargaining power and not so scary. I hate constantly being persuaded to sign up the packages when they hard sell and make it hard for me to leave the place.

Actually I come from HK and I have friends who's working on that path, can help to arrange and got the discount!
Taking photos on the rooftop of the old Hong Kong building and night shooting on tram railway in Central are very nice! And I love the buildings in Macau too! Photo shoot in front of the Portuguese unreligious architectures, churches in Macau are definitely worth every penny.
