    Buy or rent wedding dress?

hi brides, i'm having a dilemma. There are two options to get my wedding dress, buy or rent. Thing is that the buy price i've seen is often only a few hundred dollars higher than the rent price, so it feels more worth it to buy the dress instead of rent. however i will only wear it for 2 days max (ROM and banquet), so what will i do with that dress after that?

any brides face this dilemma? did you buy or rent?

some bs prefer to sell the gowns at a little bit higher than the rent price, but some the buy price is about 2x the rent price. good thing about buying is that you can sell it away, but not likely to get many buyers because most brides prefer brand new one.

I've actually rented my gown from bridal shop. Buying is more exp than rent & if juz rent on the gown + i need to co-ordinate for other services like makeup, photographers etc. it is more tidious n cost consuming. Thing bad about bridal shop is they could be quite hard selling at times.

hmm.. i aso think renting is better.. cos buying is mre tedious.. i gt a fren she gt a theme for her jiemei, she wan to buy the dress for everyone of them, and due to difference in sizes, she cant get the desired dress in the end.. and she gt to change her theme in the end... so time consuming..

i think renting a wedding dress would be better. Cheaper and no need to take up space in the closet.

It depends, are you renting just the gown or the whole package (PS, groom suits, flowers & MUA)
Normally they will sell you in package, rental of gown alone from BS is not cheap.

Rental of just the gown may range from $150 to $400 depend on the design for gown rental shop excluding BS but BS design should be nicer.

Purchasing will range from $300 upwards depending on the design. PM me if you are interested to know which are places that they sell gown.

Renting is definitely cheaper unless u keeping it. My aunt actually bought and kept her wedding gown... which she wore again during their 25 wedding anniversary...super sweet lo... but I dun have that much confidence I can fit so mine is rented.. :P

Agree with Ndlex, i used my gowns for both pre-wedding and actual day (in SG and Msia).

I bought mine at https://www.facebook.com/GoingWedding so the gowns will be a good reminder for me to keep fit! :-)
