Hi ladies.. I'm new to this too and $ is really a Wow factor.. I'm also not planning a banquet but I would like to have a nice solemnization + reception party for our close friends which also come up to be between 150 ~ 200 pax.. *faint*...
Our plans for sharing: -
Day 1: Tea Ceremony and adjourn to Buffet at the condo's poolside or function room (Any good buffet recommendations?)
Day 2: Solemnization and standing reception.. With the number of pax, yatch is out I supposed.. So I'm looking at Sentosa for something romantic.. But am so worried about the weather... haiz..
Bridal gown, friend recommended Silhouette, The Atelier (STA) but read some of the threads, seems like this is a high-end one.. I have not started sourcing any others yet..
Photography, friend recommended 2 Derricks. One is Derrick Ong and
So if I'm hiring my own photographer then just the gown rental is going to cost me a bomb right? Cos I will not be signing up any packages with them..
Any advice?

Hi Rerinu, welcome and congrats on ur upcoming wedding!
For buffet I tried Neo Gardens on other occasions and their food is good! Hm the funny thing about Sentosa is that it seldom rains lol. I have a friend who stays there and it doesn't seem to rain although sometimes the clouds there appear dark. Maybe can try having a bigger tent pitched there or can lease a space from a cafe maybe cafe del mar for 2 hours? That should cheaper if the hours are shorter especially if booked earlier in the morning like 10.30am
As for gown rental, if you are not taking up the packages it might be good to go online to check some online bridal shops, their gowns would be cheaper but you might want to buy much earlier so that at least you can be sure the gown is perfect on you and if it is not at least still got some time to change. Enjoy planning your wedding!

Hi there, I am planning on having a simple ROM ceremony and a dinner with just 20 pax only. Any recommendations on dinner places that is value for money?
By the way, the rings so expensive? Normal jewelry shop has those less than S$1k, especially during promotion. I got 1 set for S$700 with engraving, heart & arrow cut diamonds and 18 carot white gold. Besides, many photographers are not that expensive. Some I see gives pretty good service for even $300-$600 with album, slideshow, edited photos and printings.

Hi Sally, congrats and welcome! For jewellery yea diamond rings are cheaper if you dont buy from those big brands shops. For photography those are only Actual Day wedding photography which sounds decent the pricing. But for pre-wedding photoshoot its normally more than that, can range from $1.5-$3k+. I am also on the lookout for a simple ceremony and dinner that doesnt cost too much. After reading the forums I think I might have to opt for wedding lunch if htb and I still want to hold it in a hotel.

Wedding lunch is Good.
At least me and the people i know, give the same ang pow rate whether its weekend lunch or dinner.
The only difference is, if you are having gate crashing & tea ceremoney in the morning & also doing ROM before the wedding lunch, its more tiring & need more planning on the schedule & timing matter.
