    food tasting

My HTB and I are going to have our food tasting session too. Initially we thought of inviting both our parents and other relatives to try with us but recently my in-laws told me that food tasting is usually done by the groom's side i.e. All the other invitees should be the groom's relatives and my parents should not go..wondering is there such a custom? Feel sad that I can't invite my parents to try when I am sharing the cost of the banquet..
