    1) 1st decide on your budget per table
    2) Both R & H have their pros & cons..so the couple have to decide which they prefer...n what the elders feel too...
    3) after deciding on either R or H, it's the "fun" part...start making checks on which R/H can accommodate your no. of tables at your budget

Hi Lancelot, thank you for a helpful headstart... am feeling more "directional" now =)
just spoke to htb, he says don't really have to be R... i think the "problem" with us is, we are both too "sui-bian" (aka..anything la, in local slang)

and both our parents are also "sui-bian"...haha.... maybe too "sui-bian" is not good afterall...need to narrow down.. >.<

    I agree with Lancel0t,

Under budget can be a killer in any weddings.

If you cannot decide maybe you can go for a wedding shows?

    Btw I almost forgot.

The most important factor is not which hotel to chose at this point, is the Date that you are holding the wedding.

best is have a few dates in mind...exclude the ulu dates of qing ming & hungy ghost festival periods out...aft the filtering...shortlist a few dates that you and your partner may have in mind...

or you may want to see the fengshui guys to help in selecting the dates too...

with the dates in mind, you can go to hunt for the locations both of you have in mind...shortlist a few to go for their wedding roadshows/open houses as a form of site check
