hotel fort canning is very unprofessional, i just read recent bad reviews on another forum - met their director of sales - collin who is rude, has no sense of punctuality/respect for customer and time.

he took more than 20 days to revert on contract after multiple chasers, and only gave us less than 7 days to put in deposit and sign off.

speaks a lot on whether or not they can be trusted with a once in a lifetime event!

even tho the venue is nice, the ballroom is not fantastic with big pillars or long runway and my cols went there for wedding before recently and said the food was really bad!

it depends on what kind of settings you want. Is food the concern or the design of the ballroom?
i've been to a couple of hotels during my research,

    - Goodwood Park, nice ballroom, but the reception area is very small
    - Holiday Inn, very colorful ballroom(due to their lightings) but they have low ceiling by the side.
    - Crown Plaza, new, and nice! accommodate max 28 tables including reserve table, food from Imperial Treasure, should not be too bad right.. =P
-Novotel, high ceiling, nice and spacious
    - Hotel Fortcanning, indoor ballroom, (the carpet turns me off =P), but you can check out their outdoor ballroom, pretty nice! but quite ex.

    hope these helps!

Hi, how is your wedding at hotel fort canning? I am a btb in May 2013 holding a lunch recep. After reading some reviews, lost quite a bit of confidence in the hotel especially the ballroom. Can you share with me your experience? Many thanks

Had my wedding in HFC Legends Ballroom in March this year! It is love at first sight and i must say i didn't regret choosing this hotel. My guests complimented that the food is big portion and delicious. Even though it is raining, my guests still able to reach on time and it is a memorable wedding for me n my hubby. Upgrade to the Governor suite if you can, you wun regret
Thanks to the hotel coordinator & the banquet manager is very efficient as well!

Hi, we are a group of students doing a project on reducing sharks fin soup consumption in Singapore.

For couples who are getting married around June-August this year, if you have already decided not to include shark's fin soup for your wedding banquet, would you be interested to participate in our project??

Our project involves placing a graphic on the wedding menu that would be placed on every table to spread the awareness of the negative impacts of shark's fin soup consumption. It would be really nice if you all would participate in our project to spread awareness and to save sharks.

Our project is really non-invasive in anyway to your wedding banquet and you would be doing a good deed by helping us spread awareness to save sharks.

If anyone is interested please reply to this thread or drop an email to weeningfoo@gmail.com.

For more details please visit www.facebook.com/NoSharkFin and click like while you are at it

Thank you for taking the time to read this!!

    Hi guys,

Am a June 2014 BTB! My ideal wedding venue was always Capella, or for a small one, Raffles. But the wedding coordinator for Raffles was horrible. And their main ballroom is terrible. East India room was the only decent one that really conveys the facade of Raffles.

After viewing Capella, we couldn't make the minimum tables of 30, and Sentosa Room felt like a conference room than a wedding venue for a night banquet.

So after looking around, I am considering HFC.

However, I heard that they deploy 1 staff to 2 tables so drinks aren't topped up as frequently. Anyone experienced this before? How can I get around it? Is it easy to request for extra staff?

Any advice would be great as I am looking to sign a package with them next week!

    Hi,

I think mine was like 1 staff to 3 tables and serving is still okay. In fact, feedback i got from my friends was that the staff rushed to keep back the plates even though mine start exactly at 8pm.
