ya, important to hv that. sometimes also an older couple in church can also help to mentor you as you prepare.

totally agree. i think weddings are more for the families than for the bride and groom. but it's a small sacrifice, and seeing the parents happy just makes up for all the trouble!

Hello ladies, I just got married!
So far, it's not as bad as I think! I actually discovered that my hubby has more good habits than me. For example, he is more discipline and he doesn't sleep in as much as me and help me to wake up earlier for work since I am staying much further from my workplace. He accompanies me to my workplace on my first day since moving in to our new house. He's also the one to remind me to switch off the electricity when I forgot. I have a few learning points I follow by, always say thank you and say sorry when in wrong and always let him know about your thoughts...
Just sharing, hope to encourage some souls. Have fun preparing for marriage for a wedding is for a day but a marriage is for a lifetime!

how about having a small wedding for the formality? unless your hubby to be's family insists on a big thing though. I also don't really like all the hassle about getting married haha, my girlfriends seem more excited about my wedding than me.
Yar I agree, how about a small ceremony for ROM ... like solemnization?

At first it was excitement, especially when we went to look at venues, wedding bands, choosing of gowns & suits and invitation cards.

Now, it's just sian when he doesn't even contribute a single idea. All he can say is during tea ceremony, must serve tea to his parents first (my auntie said the girl's side should come 1st) and he doesn't mind if his relatives & siblings came last. He never show any appreciation to the things I've done. Don't tell me to talk to him. I did and he said he will change & learn. But I still haven't see any improvement.

For a control freak like me, it's very nerve wracking but since I've found someone who's worth it, I'm willing to jump in on it. <3

It's a combination of excitement, "I can't believe I'm getting married!" phase, nervous, anxious and blissful. That's how I felt.
