it depends where your ROM/JP is located.
If you are holding ur wedding at Crowne Plaza and the JP is staying in Boon Lay, the red packet should cover his transport.

regardless of location, just bear in mind tht the JPs r taking their own spare time to participate in the joyous occasion...don't shortchange and at least things won't sour because of the $$

Maybe it would help if he would state the minimum recommended amount to give? Think that may prevent further awkwardness during the procedure. With a minimum, any thing above that would be the couple's own discretion and generosity.
