Mandarin Oriental or Mandarin Orchard - help!

Hi There

I am trying to decide between the Mandarin Oriental (Imperial Ballroom) and the Mandarin Orchard (Atrium Suites) for our Chinese banquet and would welcome any advice?

I am not from Singapore and have just viewed both venues (along with many others) and they both look nice.

From what I have found on the internet it seems Mandarin Orchard has had its lobby and ballrooms renovated but its hotel rooms are still old and in need of renovation?

Whereas the Mandarin Oriental is a true 5 star hotel. Is this correct?

I welcome anyones thoughts about these two venues????

I just happen to be attending a luncheon at Mandarin Oriental tomorrow.

Oriental FTW!

The service is impeccable, and very unintrusive. There will be one helper assigned to follow you around, and during the table phototaking session, she'll go around and help you fold ur skirt so that no one steps on it!

Food's good too... The prob is you can't get a very nice march in if you have too many tables..
