haha yup, regretted signing up with MDW. My bride took 3 sessions to select her 2 gowns & 1 tea dress, barely satisfied with the selection still. My attire is even worst. I wanna a grey suit, they only have grey jacket to match with white or black pants. Totally off combination and yet they say this is alright. And have the cheek to say that other bridal houses don't even offered grey at all.

We signed MDW under pressure at vivo bridal show. i rem mDW dun let us go and only let us go after paying partial deposit and let us go their shop before decide to sign full package.Just like Romantic Life. Well, we are going to stick to the shirts bought at domanchi and insist MDW match our attire, cos their inner white shirt at $108 (exc GST) really not nice and exp. For gowns, we are totally unimpressive and their staff actually show some unpleasant attitude when we keep asking other gowns choices. not sure if we can get nice one the 2nd round. we are thinking of tailor gowns and/or buy suit from domanchi for our wedding.

    Got a query.

My package includes actual day make-up and hairdo( For day and night on the same day).
Can anyone advise if this covers the morning gatecrashing and during banquet? Or does this only include the morning session to give me two different looks? Quite confused since i saw so many people hiring another MUA and was wondering if i needed to.

    TIA!

I presume they need another MUA for the mummies and siblings? when i signed up with MDW, i specially asked abt mummies' makeup. They say I can easily get MDW's makeup artists to chip in and help with our mummies' makeup. After I signed they say mummies' makeup will have extra charge. And says contract never say there is free makeup for our mummies. What a brilliant U-turn! So make sure whatever they had agreeed verbally with you, is put down into contract.

erm.. but i saw a lot of people hiring another MUA for themselves.. the price is horrendiously high! range from $500 to $1500 for make-up and hair-do for 1 person.

Any MUA BTB can share if we have to hire another MUA for ourselves?

hi godbirdie, please see my reply below. anyhow, it is not so much of the photographer. but the stylist and gown is more important. when they make you look the best, whatever shots you take, you will look the best. For me, my wedding shots are WORST than my leisure shots.

Hi Kiefer,it seems like there are discrepancies on your post.
    Please view below :

I presume they need another MUA for the mummies and siblings?
Ask any bridal shop, in usual package, there is no MUA for mummies and siblings.

when i signed up with MDW, i specially asked abt mummies' makeup. They say I can easily get MDW's makeup artists to chip in and help with our mummies' makeup.
They did not say the wrong thing.

After I signed they say mummies' makeup will have extra charge. And says contract never say there is free makeup for our mummies. What a brilliant U-turn!
My reply will be as follow on the above.

So make sure whatever they had agreeed verbally with you, is put down into contract.
So why didn't you did that?

3 sessions to select 2 gowns and 1 tea dress??You signed up recently and took your PS and now collected your album and now choosing tea dress??Kinda weird here???Your package cost $50k??Which they specially prioritize you???

My attire is even worst. I wanna a grey suit, they only have grey jacket to match with white or black pants. Totally off combination and yet they say this is alright. And have the cheek to say that other bridal houses don't even offered grey at all.
They only have grey jacket??Are you sure??I trust that there are a few brides to be saw my PS photos already.BTW, meilingg is my wife and we are very happy customer to MDW.

hmmm..... Andrew, not to sure what point you are trying to bring across. If you are a happy client then congrats! I am just sharing my real encounters with MDW, for which I think will be helpful to anyone looking to sign up a package anywhere, not just in MDW.

    1) Regarding MUA for mummies & sisters. If it is not free then MDW should tell me directly when I asked specifically prior to signing contract, and not give me false impression that the makeup artist will do it for me for free. My mistake is to trust them fully, and did not put that into contract. Gullible me I should have asked everything to be in contract like you.... but then it is the first bridal package i ever took up..

    2) My point abt the 3 sessions to choose 3 gowns is to illustrate the quality of choice they have. I have not even collected my album yet. Not too sure what you are trying to say abt 'prioritizing', and the $50k. Oh yes, I thought I had signed a $50k contract because they wanna me to bring the contract everytime I come for an appointment.

    3) Grey jacket. I did not say they only have grey jacket. I said they do not have a set of full grey suit. If you had read my post carefully you would have understood the points I am trying to bring across.

Even in a lousy shop there will be happy customers, and vice versa. I stand by my words since I do not think the statements I made are unfair or biased. Maybe I need bring a voice recorder everytime I go down to have everything on record, stupid me. Ouch!
