I think one of the best tips I have is to work on a set budget..

You wouldn't want to go spending more money than you have in mind. Work with your set budget and find good options

Well, other than making sure that the space is big enough for the size of your party, ask your banquet coordinator if they can accommodate special food requests for your guests with food allergy, vegan, lactose-intolerant, etc. Also, it would be ideal to get a hotel banquet venue where there are rooms for your guests to check into right after the party.

If im looking for a banquet venue, i would prefer one that has no pillars in the space cos it just blocks the view.

This one is really important. Make sure your caterer grants special food requests. But also, make sure to ask all your guests about food restrictions.

Yes. I myself am allergic to nuts, so this is very important to me. Even as simple as nut oil triggers my allergic reaction. Ask your guests for any food restrictions and make sure that your banquet venue can accommodate that.
