    Outdoor venue recommendations?

    Hello everyone

This is my first time entering a wedding forum. Any recommendations for outdoor wedding venue that may have a back up plan (e.g indoor place) in case it rains?

My wedding is in 3rd nov 2012 (MONSOON season~aaargh!). Initially we are very keen to booked Labrador since it's cheap to book the place. But I'm kinda contemplating now just in case bad weather strikes us!

P.S: Btw I can't open any PDF files posted in these forums.. Is it true I need to post a PDF file in other to view others.

    Sigh

Hi farah, welcome to Perfect Weddings! You will need min 1 post in order to download pdfs, try to download them again now.

Btw, you may want to get a backup plan if Labrador does not have any indoor location, quite risky judging by the unpredictable weather nowadays.

How abt Hort Park? I just attended a wedding lunch there. It was in a function room, got aircon. But I have also seen outdoor wedding in Hort Park before. So probably it has both outdoor and indoor kind...

How about Sentosa? There are quite a few venues there which have usable indoor/outdoor areas. I explored the Sapphire Pavilion along the beach, thought its pretty nice. I finally settled for One Degree 15 (Sentosa Cove) though, with dinner in their ballroom indoors, and solemnisation on the outdoors deck. The ballroom foyer is big and spacious, so its my rainy day plan.

Hello ladies, thank you all for your suggestions! Labrador has no indoor back-up plan so I guess it's out. Heard pretty much good reviews on Hort Park .. Gonna survey that area n thanks Mei for suggesting one degree 15.. Good luck n all the best for your wedding preparation ladies!

to be honest, i disappointed with Hortpark. the PR is very blur one. firstly She said, they will not take other events near the venue that we booked. and at the end... we finally found out that, the big entrance area has event there : gardening workshop. and she never told us about that, until we tried to book that for cocktails, and she just told that it was taken for "gardening" . and the small room that can be used for waiting room and changing room, already booked for others seminar.
I lost a lot of money because of that. because I booked for 3 days (for set up and dismantle tents + actual day) the tents vendor also very 'tricky'. the guy never told me all the basic things that is needed. end up, he gave 'okay' quotation, and then add here and there (after I booked hortpark) and the price going up and up as high as $12,000 ++ for TENT ONLY with JUST BASIC items.

For a wet weather plan, your best bet could be to just hold the solemnisation outdoors and have your banquet indoors as Mei suggested. Otherwise you might have to book the function/ball room too just in case it rains. If you have a big group, not many outdoor venues are able to accommodate the banquet anyway.

I had a yatch ROM during Sept 2012. Was sunny during my ROM but if it rains, all my guest can be indoors. If not, they can be out in the sun. I had about 27 guest onboard. Quite special and different.
