    Parties / Showers / Gatherings

Hi all. I'm confused... I was reading thru Infos on wedding preparations and came across a few confusing terms. Can anyone explain the differences between Bridal parties / Bridal Showers / Engagement Parties etc. Do Singaporeans hold such pre-wedding parties? What are the necessary gatherings we have to organise before the actual wedding day??

bridal showers are before wedding, something like hen's night. bridal parties are normally a way for close friends and family to get together before the actual wedding and talk things out before things get stressful. if you don't want to organize it's up to you, not the norm i would say. for my close friends, only half of them actually did those extra parties.

Bridal showers are done to celebrate the near wedding of the bride. This is the counterpart of the groom's stag party.
