would like to ask we need to pay for playing songs during the AD for marhc-in, montage and background music right?
May i know how much is the charge? Is it per song or per event?
Anyone can advise? Thanks..

you need to check with the place you're holding your wedding. some hotels dun need.. they have a list of songs they can play for you...

if you intend to play songs other than those the hotel provide, you may need to pay. Check with Compass singapore on the rates

Think have to depends on which hotel? Some hotels will expect couples to present the proof that they did purchase.
And also depends our guests, especially if anyone happens to be working in those industry...

I think it started only last year..
I'm still not sure what to do.. $100 just to play our own songs and it has to be from original CD and not burnt
I actually wanted different songs which can't be found on a single CD *sigh*

Oh and the wedding videos that are to be aired can only be done by videographers who have applied for the license, unless using royalty free music.
Montages are affected too..

Acks... sorry for flooding the thread.. can't seem to edit posts..
Here's a useful link http://www.rips.com.sg/our_licensed_photographers/
Its a link of videographers licensed to produce wedding videos with background music.
Hope that helps

means on top of paying the license fee for ripping songs for wedding montage, we still need to source for a licensed videographer?? any ideas if the hotels are strict on permitting of personal burnt cd of songs for background music??

Just sharing, depend on the hotel rules.
For me, My 1st march in, i used an original CD of mine to play. For 2nd March in, i used the hotel list of songs to play.
As for Montage (which i do myself), basically to avoid the licence, you can play the Montage and the Original CD songs together, which mean the they play on 2 separate devices
As long the music is not embedded in the montage, understand no need to pay.
This info i understand alot people have done that and advised by hotel. But of course, if you want perfect montage with music embedded, you have to pay licence.
