Pros & cons of staying at top floor

Is it a good idea to get a unit on the highest floor of the block?

i oso stay at top floor..depend what floor you stay.
    PRO:
    better view if any.
no need to fear water drip from updownstairs..
-high in demand and probable high resale value.

    Cons:
    Water tank noisy (maybe...)
    Lift spoilt, good luck..
more exp compared to low fllor.

Normally people will go for 2nd highest to get the view and to prevent water leakage from the roof.

It depends actually, it is quite windy if you stay on the top level of the block but at the same time you'll feel very hot during humid weathers. Anyway is it a pent house?

be careful not to get the unit below the water tank. not only will you get watermarks on your ceiling. your flat will randomly trembles all day. This happens to my cous's place at teck whye.

Highest floor is scary! Haha.. But I think it's less noisy up there.

I used to stay on the 2nd highest floor when I was much younger. My neighbour's children (staying on the highest floor) will drop marbles and the sound will drive my family mad. Nowadays, kids do not play with marbles though. But that bad experience resulted in my current home being the highest floor.

I guess MOST concern issue is by staying at the top floor, you do not have the problem of noise disturbance created by your upstairs neighbor if you stay below them. If you ever read newspaper, there are a lots of neighbor disputes all related to lacking of spirit of neighbor harmony, worst scenario if you cannot tolerant the noise and your neighbor is totally not considerate, the last resort is you better look for another house and move out, trust me, nobody can help you. Those already stay in the top floor, very small percentage will move out unless for some other reasons than neighborhood (provided you don't disturb your downstairs neighbor).

in my opinion, there's less noise when you're at the top. and you can also have a nice view if there is any.

My parents' unit is on the top floor, no leakage from water tank above though. Noise is pretty minimised as compared to lower floors. The only evident noise you hear are the neighbours one floor lower than yours arguing..
