separate wedding event for family and friends

    Hi All,
Anyone thought of doing a separate event for family and friends?

I'm really tempted to do so because firstly, I am not exactly close with most of my relatives so I was thinking that a separate event would allow me to mingle with my friends.

Secondly, I love the straits room at fullerton but the maximum capacity for the room is 12 tables! So i thought perhaps I could hold both lunch and dinner (lunch for family guests and dinner for friends).

Anyone could advise me on this, if it's too rushing or unrealistic? What other factors should I consider? Thanks!

I am doing that for mine!!! I cant tell you much on it now I can only say you there will be some additional cost for photographer, videographer, extra one more touch up for make up, you might need one more evening gown unless you dun mind wearing the same evening gown in the afternoon and evening time, oh and one more set of cards insert to print as is two different timing. The above are some of the additional cost that will need to incured if you are doing wat I am doing

The only thing now i can share with you is tat if you are also doing your rom on the same day.... not during the lunch or dinner time ... like mine i do it before lunch then the timing is a bit tight. basically i can only do everything in the hotel ... includes Tea ceremony ... from the time I wake up .... I will not have any rest time till dinner ends ...... just finalised my itinerary 2 weeks ago .....

It will means additional costs to various things, however more fun and relax for the friends only section. Family one will be more formal

If you can do it in one event for both, then go do it otherwise, you would end up spending more

Seems like a bit expensive, isn't it?
