Sticky: Angpao for bros and sis' - just a view
I read in an old post on this topic and just like to share my 5cents worth.
Actually I encountered myself at a gd friend's wedding being the MC, sister and bridesmaid. It was rather disturbing that my friend didn't give an angpao. And because it's a good friend I found it very awkward to raise the issue and let it past since some years ago.
Essentially, I truly believe that, it is not the amount that matters. It's a token of gratitude and blessings.
From a "pantang" or "Asian" or perspective, because the friends have helped and given blessings, I understand it as I return token that's all. And I mean it as $28, $18, even a $10 or $8.
Just my thoughts, friends would understand the the financial capabilities I guess, and I believe wouldn't complain about the amount, so I do mean "token amount" and feel that it's the gesture that carries the meaning

How about can I check if the money gotten at gate-crashing is supposed to be shared among the bridesmaids? Please share your experience. Thanks!
