Hey ladies, what type/color tea dress did you all wear for your AD tea ceremony? Is it appropriate to wear dark color short dress (e.g. dark blue)? I don't wish to wear cheongsam or kua hence want to try something different.

Some elderly will advice to avoid colours like green, blue and black. Cause these are considered mourning colours. Avoid any chrysanthemum flora prints as well.

On the side note, I understand from my mum that Kua is usually wore by the Cantonese.
It's usually 3/4 sleeves cause the Canton Bride would usually be presented with Dragon-Phoenix Bangles during tea ceremony and some gracious relatives would present her with jewellery as well. Hence the 3/4 sleeves cut is to "show off" the gifts that she has received - according to my mum that's the olden days culture.
