that's good to hear. it could be true, especially holiday season is when most families go overseas. why not choose a date that is special to you and yr hubby instead? like anniversary date.

I agree with emilyy, choose a date that is special to u and ur htb It's gonna be hard getting high attendance on those festive days as most ppl have their own plans to celebrate.

Hi emily/carol, thanks for your feedback. Xmas eve/xmas is also one of our memorable dates and we plan to have in dec 2012. initially wanted 20.12.12 or 12.12.12 , but many hotels charge surcharge of min $100-150 per table, amounting to ard additional $3k+ to total table..thinking not so worth while.
anyway, gtg down to sign contract coming week..so still deciding on dates.
between, appreciate your feedback.
I and my Wtb look forward dec 2012, auspicious mth cum dragon year...

godbirdie, which hotel are you looking at? Ya haha better to get the dates booked first! I think dec in 2012 is a very sought after month for weddings. But the surcharge sure is expensive, and most people tend to give about $80-$120 for ang pao so if hold it on those festive days do you think they will give more thinking its Christmas might as well give you more as present? hahaha

some hotels charge same rate for wkend and public holiday such as xmas.for example, 2012 xmas on wkdays. Year end normally is the festival periods where holidays and year end countdown.
