Yea i guess its okay to do a wedding lunch. Marriage is btw the both of you, so do whatever you and your partner deemed fit.

i think wedding lunch is very common too ... i'm newlyweds and i'm holding a wedding lunch too. To me is really not so stressful and time consuming.
FYI, most of the hotel are quite fully booked even with wedding lunch now ..

it's not entirely a bad idea but you have to consider the schedule of your guests as well.

I'm having a hotel wedding lunch for family, and the hotel coordinator tells me it's pretty common in Singapore to have wedding lunch.

The feedback from our guests was good, cos there's less of a rush, and the overseas guests can fly back at night. The funniest thing some older guests said was that they liked it, cos it's easier for them to drive in the day (with lao hua yan). I never would have guessed that! Haha!

Oh, just to share, we are doing solemnization before the lunch, and tea ceremony after the lunch (all at the hotel).

One other consideration is the cost. the lunch is much affordable compared to dinner. about 15-20% I estimated.
