Hi I'm new here.
I recently sent a few enquiries to various wedding planners, most of them minimum spending is $2-3k. I had one quote me $1k for consultation on the theme of solemnisation alone.
Unless you are really rich or doing things at extremely last minute then preferable to try to plan details on your own. If overwhelmed maybe talk to people who have gotten married within the previous few years for tips.
I personally feel that hiring a wedding planner will eat into your wedding budget and should be considered as a last resort when you get overwhelmed. Just my two cents, I may be wrong

It depends on your budget and time. My friends have last minute engaged one in March for their wedding in June this year. They literally do not have not much time to plan for their wedding, theme etc and anything that can go wrong, almost did went wrong. Their planners came up with alternatively ways to show case their growing up pics, montage etc, settled their gowns in 2 weeks time frame and their wedding was quite chill and relax. Have saxophone for the night. So quite jazzy ambience as well. I think their pricing quite reasonable, so can consider to check them out. I think it's Perfect Unity or some sort.

Guess it all depends on how many guests you're planning to invite, how big the venue is, extensive the food preparation for banquet.... etc. Hiring a planner is a good idea to keep things in line.

if you & your partner are both busy, it's better to hire one to ensure everything's gonna turn out okay

If you have the time and the willingness to go thru the stress of wedding planning, you can act as the planner urself
Good luck!
