To those who have gone to Krabi for their shoot, could u share your experience of your shoot there? Are the shoot locations fixed or do you choose the locations?

Also, would appreciate it if you could share with me some of your Krabi shots as well? Thanks!

With regards to your post #169 i saw, sad to say, i followed your footstep & had the same experience u gone thru. Too bad i din do homework.
    Now regret.

Had an appt with them to choose our bali & local pix, but was late.
Suppose to be 7pm but reach 8pm.
    Alex Chai is our photographer.
Never in my mind came across that i had to stick to the no. of pose:aka:pix stated inside the original invoice despite so many reminder from friends. Total of 48pix. Enough for an album.
Alex din even remind us earlier (Damn way of marketing) !
But instead by 11pm, we chose 155pix. All staffs had already left, except us.

He took a look at the no. of pix we chose, then explained to us 155-48=107pix, 107x$65=$6955/-
So offer us package $5,000/- throw in all pix in softcopy cd return. Upgrade this upgrade that.
Dunno is it paisay to stuck at such a late timing, therefore obliged to sign for that do-or-die (ganna ka-toh) package, if not have to make another trip back. So troublesome.
Took cab at 12am. Next day still gonna work.

Think of it, really not worth. Bali & local shoot $10,000/- freaking expensive.
Just called whitelink to have a talk/feedback with Alex to see if can negotiate an amicable solution.
Not refund but trying to see if that additional $5,000/- can be use more appropriately, instead of lumping everything into pix.
Was told no solution given. Wanted to talk to manager. Give lotsa excuses...blar blar...

    Any advise ?

What made u paid the $8,000/- for your package ?
Did u consult/feedback whitelink eventually to settle your unhappiness ?
Let's share with others on the forum posting too.
    Thanks !

    Regards
    Jason
My PG was also Alex Chai. He was super hard-sell. When me n my hubby decided not to top up any photos, Alex gave us black face and say negative stuff like "If i know u will not top-up, i would not have to waste my effort to help you take the pic."

I was like ??!! He was the photographer, how can he say such thing? We paid for his service and not as if we didn't pay him. Damn angry abt it

I went to Krabi photo shoot in May. I enjoyed and had lot of fun! My photographer Alex CHAI and he is fabulous. He is so funny and tried to crack jokes to lighten the atmosphere. We can see that he really put in a lot of effort taking the best angle and good picture. He will go all out like lying on the sandy beach to capture the best shot. Honestly I don’t see other photographers doing that.

There was once he was a bit frustrated because we cannot achieve what he wanted. It was at the beach where we were pretty far from him and the waves were very loud hence we couldn’t hear what he say. He explained that he can’t really shout because once he shouts, the camera will shake and the photo will turns out blur. We understand where he was coming from and doesn’t mean to be angry. It was a scene where we need to stroll down the beach; we were supposed to smile, look at each other and look at the sky. But both of us had very bad coordination and were not natural. We tried a few times but we just couldn’t get the feel he wants so he scraps the idea taking there. We were quite upset because we felt that Alex has chosen good scenery but we failed to do it.

Other than this tiny incident, the rest of the day with Alex was enjoyable. Despite the long hours, Alex remains professional, never fail to joke with us and will try his best to guide us as much as he can to position ourselves to get the best angle for the shoot.

My makeup artist was Jessie. She is another wonderful lady -very chatty and funny person. I spent a lot on makeup. I paid for ampoule and 2 set of eyelash. My fiance used one ampoule. I didn’t know if those ampoule outside are suitable so I decided to get from her which cost $20 each. Then for eyelash, my eyes were too small so I have to use two eyelashes ($60) to make it bigger. At least for eyelash I think can re-use for my actual day so not so bad. Before she starts the makeup, she will ask for any preference on hair style or make up. All makeup artist does that not only her. For me I told her I wanted to have my hair bun up for one of the shoot but she immediately advise she will not recommend it due to my face shape. The rest of the hairstyle was up to her creativity which i love it very much. As i only have outdoor shoot i wanted to have as many styles as i can. So during the evening gown shoot, most couples hairstyles are the same just that with different accessories. But Jessie was very nice i told her i wanted something different and immediately she change another style for me which was pretty suitable for my gown. In fact, we will get a chance to work with different makeup artists throughout the whole shoot and I think all of them are very experience and nice people.

For some snap shot that I took in the hotel room and details of the whole photo shoot event, do visit my blog at bubblyqiqi@blogspot.com

Lastly I would like thank all the recommendation from the forum, I wouldn’t be able to know and choose these wonderful photographer and makeup artist if people have not posted their reviews. So i hope my post will help the future Whitelink btb.

That's why it's hard sell marketing. Bad, sarcastic & lame remark. If such kind of service exist in this modern world, how to survive ? A professional photographer should not be pushy in terms of his pride, service & work. He should be humble & respect the decision made by his customer. Afterall, he is representing whitelink. Whitelink boss eyes 'tia' stamp ar ?

I walk-in to whitelink during a roadshow last yr, coz I heard they r quite reputable. Made so many visit trips to whitelink during this yr too. Not to mention, I live in the west, journey so far. Though we have some unhappiness on the expectation but nevertheless, I should give some credits to Jimmy, our coordinator. A friendly carebear

Went whitelink this afternoon to collect ROM gown etc.
After collection, was told the case that we brought up to their management had come to a conclusion.
Was given an opportunity to have a 24"x20" grand family portrait (no expiry date)
    And a gift set below.
Well partly, due to my friend's wife who knows the boss well, therefore got such privileges. Or else, hardly.
10K for such shoot is not cheap...but nevertheless, both sides give & take, & come to an amicable solution.
I would say 'suan le'...let's move on. Hope to see my 2 albums coming up

He made all those unprofessional remark and indirectly "sour" us. Then later still can smile at us and say he is joking. I mean, come on la..he was being sarcastic that's all. Is like i slap you on the face then later smile at you and say i'm kidding only.

When we first met, doing our photoshoot, he kept repeating and say "when i joke sometimes can get ppl offended. dun feel angry k" i was totally all right coz i can differentiate what is joke and what is not.

But when me n my hubby decided NOT to top up any photos, that's when Alex Chai made all those remark and pressurize us. We not dumb and obviously it was sarcastic. Even the couple beside us who overheard the remarks and look at him!

Joke can joke. But he made such sarcastic remarks.

"If i know u will not top-up, i would not have to waste my effort to help you take the pic."

(When we suggested certain photoshoot spot that he disagree) he said "dun spoil my photography skills *show me black face n walk off just like that" So rude.. he could have said nicely that the place is unsuitable rite? U call this joking?
    I doubt so.

Wedding is a happy thing so it's consider bad luck to complain n make this matter big to his manager. So i kept quiet. But i would not recommend anyone to find him or even sign up w whitelink.

I just came back from my photo selection. I was super scare when I saw all the reviews about Alex Chai. I agree he will say some lame jokes, say stuff like spend a lot of time, go all out to take good shot but his tone was super nice and gentle.. He showed us the "package" and we told him our budget and he was very cool about it. He said no pressure and walk off to allow us to discuss about it. Maybe this is his another sales method- soft approach or maybe he kana complained so he change..
