Confused Are you willing to spend on banquet?

As per above, are you willing to spend on banquet?
how much are you willing to spend on per table? Why?
Or do you prefer to use the money somewhere else like honeymoon, jewellery, bridal package, new house and its reno?

question to already wed couple, what do you all think? If given another chance, what is your choice?
Is it true that banquet with most relatives will likely make a lose?
Do people really give you ang bao base on the hotel?

I'm trying to keep to budget of about $1200 per table coz I think sure will make losses. On the other hand, I still want to have a traditional banquet for relatives and friends to attend. So I guess need to prepare for some losses for this.

My friend had it in Holiday Inn Orchard dinner and had a couple of thousands as profit. Surprisingly as there were relatives of like a couple plus 4 kids giving only $280 or whole table of 10 giving $500. Another did it in Expo and made losses of few thousands. I guess it depends on the generosity of your relatives and friends also.

Normally kids don't eat much but they forgot that the banquet is not calculated like buffet with child price.

For us, we prefer to spend our money on furniture of new house and honeymoon. Somehow our friends just started work, not very wise for us to spurge on expensive location and expect them to pay.
