If you think you know enough about the lives and loves of celebrities, you might want to think again. When it comes to the world of celebrity weddings, there’s no end of interesting things to know about. Read on and earn the bragging rights of knowing the most celebrity weddings trivia.
An Animal for Luck
Specifically, it was an elephant that was invited to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s 2010 wedding, which was held at the Beverly Hills residence of Lionel Richie, Nicole’s father. The bride believed that animals bring good fortune, thus the reason for having an elephant at her wedding.
Nicole and Joel were married after four years and two kids. Other celebs in attendance at the wedding were Gwen Stefani, Ashlee Simpson and Kris Jenner. However, Richie’s A Simple Life co-star Paris Hilton was a no-show at her wedding.
Eat Well for a Wedding Diet
Any bride would gladly take this diet if they had to put on 300 feet of satin gown like Melania Knauss. The former model married American real estate magnate Donald Trump in 2005 wearing one of the most expensive wedding gowns. Melania wore a Dior satin creation with 1,500 crystal rhinestones and pearls embroidered to it.
The wedding was touted as the most expensive wedding in 2005 with high profile guests and elaborately extravagant wedding details, such as the five foot seven-tiered 200 pound orange Grand Marnier chiffon wedding cake.
Wedding Freebie Extravaganza
Star Jones has taken celebrity freebies and product placement to a higher level as she excessively pushed for sponsorships for her own wedding. Like most brides, Jones wanted only the best of the best for her wedding. The difference is that Jones took advantage of her celebrity status to get her wedding needs for free.
The View host has done on-air plugs for wedding suppliers on the show which has generated controversy. She bagged free wedding invitations, entourage attire, and even a free airfare for the honeymoon. Jones married Al Reynolds in 2004 and was divorced in 2008.
The Secret Malibu Wedding
Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian tied the knot in a sunset ceremony in Malibu with only 40 guests in attendance. This secret affair was held in a private estate. But the wedding itself wasn’t the only secret revealed. Rimes and Cibrian were reportedly respectively married when they engaged in their extra marital affair in 2009, which eventually led them to divorcing their former partners before they got married to each other.
Recently, Rimes went to rehab to cope with anxiety and stress that allegedly was out of her fear that Eddie was cheating on her as well.
Stardom is an ever dependable generator of outrageous wedding trivia that can make our jaws drop. But a trivia will remain interesting but unimportant. Your favorite celebrity wedding can inspire you on how to have your own wedding, but keep in mind that no luxury or extravagance can assure a “happily ever after”. What is important is your willingness to commit and be with your partner for the rest of your life. And that is reason to celebrate even in simplicity as you begin a marriage to last a lifetime.
