Malacca as a destination wedding - yes or no?

Am considering Malacca cos of its heritage but i'm not too sure about:

a) venues - are the 5 star hotels really international-level 5 star in terms of quality of building, interior deco, service levels?

b) food - probably their buffet spread serving Southeast Asian cuisine is good, but what about the quality of their plated Western 3 or 4 course dinners?

c) entertainment - if its better to hire a DJ or band from Singapore or KL?

I will think that Malacca has its own charm.. Since they are portugese influence, they might have some very good western course dinners, but maybe more Iberian influenced? This is just my deductions.. :)

entertainment wise, I would think if you are looking at chinese entertainers, their spoken chinese is distinctively Malaysian sounding, they speak Chinese too.. but might be a little foreign on our ears.. so you can consider Singaporean if you are looking at Chinese entertainment.. but if you are thinking of an English band... I think those people in KL speak good english.. they should be ok, but then again, it is best that you do a search online as early as possible. :)
