Orchard Hotel Singapore

Hi, I have attended wedding dinner @Orchard Hotel previously and the ambience is excellent. Their grand ballroom have high ceilings and it is very spacious. One of the nicest ballrooms I have seen in Singapore, including some other good ones will be Novotel Clarke Quay, Concorde Hotel, Furama Riverfront, Grand Waterfront Corpthorne, Fairmont Singapore etc. The service in Orchard Hotel is good, foodwise is fine, just that it is not too accessible. Need a little bit of walking distance to the nearest MRT.
FYI, Orchard Hotel has an excellent chinese restaurant called Hua Ting, a very famous one with several culinary awards. You can find out more info about Hua Ting in the internet. Their main chefs will be the official cooks and caterer for the whole dinner event. This info was provided by my bf's sis because she has recently just confirmed her wedding dinner with Orchard Hotel 2 weeks ago. And she is pleased with their service and overall experience. hello poshberries, thank you for the review! oh, interesting to know that hua ting is the official caterer. Their prices for food is quite high, but i may go down and try their food to get a taste of how it can be like for the wedding dinner.

Hi Jamie, sorry for my late reply. Well, I do not think you can go down & try their food. It is only ok for you to taste the food until you confirmed your booking with Orchard Hotel and before the actual commencement of your big day, which is about 1 month before, then you get invited down to the hotel and do the actual food-tasting. Hua Ting is really not only a famous restaurant but a good one because I have got a few chef friends who mentioned before that their chinese cuisine is really good. FYI, the wedding co-ord did not give her any other perks, but I suggest you may try to ask for perks if you require any. It is always good to check and ask since this is your big event. I am planning to hold my wedding there in the mid of 2012 and I am glad that there are such good comments about it (so far). May I know how many tables were there for the last banquet that you have attended at Orchard Hotel? Is it at Ballroom 3 (the one closest to the escalator)?
Wish to know if it's really spacious.

Hihi, I will be having my wedding there this coming Dec, and from what I observed during my visit to the ballrooms before I signed my package, the ballrooms is quite 'soundproof' (considering I was in the ballroom 1 + 2, and there are a bunch of guests outside, and another event going on in an adjacent ballroom). Hope this helps.
