We just returned last week from a 2-week honeymoon in Bali. We began in Kuta, then went to Pemuteran, then Ubud, then Gili Air, then Sanur, following the itinerary suggested in the LP guide. I strongly suggest going to Pemuteran if you want to get away from the tourism, which is really unbearable in Kuta/Seminyak. We stayed at the hotel Adi Assri, it was gorgeous, peaceful (Jan is the low season, so it was really quiet), and we were able to scuba dive and snorkel from the dive school "Sea Rovers" associated with the hotel. The owner of the dive school is an incredibly friendly, laid back British man named Paul. Of all the places we stayed, Pemuteran was the only place where we were never hassled to buy things, we had a gorgeous view of the water from our bungalow, and there's excellent food to be had if you venture just beyond the hotel gates. Gili Air was also a gorgeous tropical getaway but the constant hassle of being asked to buy things detracts from the experience. This never happened in Pemuteran.. .though I fear its only a matter of time before the tourist ethos infects that area, too. I'd be happy to talk with you further about our experience if you like.

Wow, thanks for sharing! Even though ive been there a couple of times, i have never heard of Pemuteran before. Which part is it in? the north part of bali or? Sounds like a great trip you had. The ones i had were all in touristy places. Really very disturbing by all the hawkers esp at e beaches.

prettybride: not an absolute necessity to go on a honeymoon...it is just good to take a break with your husband after all that wedding preparation...haha...a short short holiday would be good!

i would love to go bali for honeymoon!!

Hi all brides in this thread!

Glad to find some bali lovers. I am thinking of engaging a photographer to get some casual photos of me and my htb in Bali, our favourite place!! looking for interested couples to share the cost of airtickets for the photographer and one assistant. tentatively, photographer will be in Bali this September.. it can be bridal photography, honeymoney photography etc. doesnt need to be full day photography. can be just a 2-3 hours shoot and the photographer will charge accodingly to the number of hours.
The photographer I am thinking of engaging is Hendra R from Hendra R. Photography. If you see his works, I think he is good in casual couple photoshoot. Let me know if any couples are interested. :)

my email is casslin20@gmail.com :)

Hi, Bali is a great place for wedding and HM! You won't regret it! I highly recommend you stay in Villa for your HM as it will be more meaningful and private. If you're interested I can give you my wedding planner contact in Bali. I used their services for my own wedding but they do offer service for HM.

They will provide you great discount, it's cheaper than if you book the villa or hotel yourself. Just let me know if you need their email and contact. Have a great honeymoon in Bali!

Bali very hot and humid leh.. last time i went there so hot kept perspiring. but it is a very nice place though especially Kuta beach. but i think only that beach is very nice, a few other beaches i went to at Bali ok ok only. But Kuta beach has super fine white sand and veryyy nice blue waves. Very shiok for surfing ;)
