How many here wait till house is ready then get married?

i have a few friends who did that and they do everything all at once! plan wedding, renovate the house etc. So many things to do! not to mention having to wait for the house to be ready then can marry.

It's very hard in Singapore.. Need to apply for HDB.. then balloting.., then need to wait for 3-4 years to collect they key.. Plus, when you apply, need to guy and girl name to apply together... If you think about it, after you get proposed to, you need to wait about 4 years if your buying a new HDB flat..

Hi, am one of them waiting my house to be ready next year then plan wedding and renovation. Hopefully the house can be ready earlier (wait wait wait is not easy).. i would recommend you to look for HDB balance flat.

now is the best time to get bto if you havent. i believe many marry this year and apply at the same time.

I got married last yr & just got my BTO unit this yr -- est. completion is 2015~ We only started to ballot about 2 yrs ago but failed abt 5 times... so we decided to get married 1st as I could move over to my hubby place.

Actually now alot of my friends apply BTO 1st - get the unit then start to plan your wedding ... cos BTO needs time to build & also if u are unlucky like me ballot for 2 yrs also no results...

id rather marry first. like phoebeanie said, balloting is not a sure win, so might as well apply first, secure then marry. since there is the lag time there. just have to stay with parents for the time being.

i believe that's what many singaporeans are doing also, thanks to the BTO which takes a few years in advance to build haha. ROM within the year is the easiest also, only need to book photographer.

initially our plans was to wait till hse ready then ROM plus customary wedding tog but we changed plans and will b getting married this yr..we applied for hse in Aug 2010 n now my site only building till lvl 2 for one of the blks n d rest r still at void deck or foundation lvl...this is like getting too long so marry 1st

yes i feel the same way too. well you can have your customary after getting your house, at least just ROM first. many couples ROM first then customary 1 year later.

Yes! mine also ready in 1Q 2014 but have yet prep anything for customary. Initially thought just rom first and get the cert to collect keys but....same thought as u, AD one year after key collection but is b4 or after u move in? Cos I had been pondering on this for long. If I move in then AD got no feel of a newly wed but If wed first it's gonna be very rush n costly... Plan for Reno n wedding tgt. I even thought of just ROM plus AD all in a day right before key collection then both of us will stay in a new BTO and really start from scratch can always save n slowly build. But I dunno which is better as in less texting cos 2013-2Q2014 i ll b working and doing part time degree...

my boyfriend and I applied for a BTO and we worked our dates backwards from the date we get our keys. so basically we are getting married afew months before we get our keys so we can produce our marriage cert for the house.

we actually started getting our house built when we got engaged. thankfully, it was finished a month after we got married.
