My experience with SKYcreation (ID firm)

In Singapore, there are thousands over ID companies. It is a real headache to find a reliable one. Before we begin our hunt for an ID, we came out with a set of criteria.
- Large scale company and have good history in ID works
- Able to present a library of concepts for viewing
- Wide range of materials choice
- Interior designer must be responsible
- ID must able to present to our ideas
- ID must keep their promises

With the set of criteria in mind, my wife and I began our hunt for ID firm. Through FB, we saw that SKYcreation was having an open house at their ‘MUSEE’ showroom, so we gave it a try. On the appointment day, we were hosted by one of the interior designers (ID), Ms Candice. I confess that I was ageist. Candice is a young lady and my first impression is 'inexperience'. She guided us through the showroom and introduced a wide range of materials that their company is using. I am impressed with the resources the company have. After the tour, I also described my concept to her and immediately she sketches it on the floor plan and presented my ideas into drawings. She also contributes her ideas to improve the design. I am IMPRESSED with her creativity. My wife and I are very comfortable with the ID and the strong company structure. We decided to invest our $2k to see the complete floor plan sketch. About 2-3 weeks later, we met her in their main office to view our design and see our first quotation. I am pleased with the works and quotation falls within our budget (35-40k).

*Our house is BTO 4rm, 93sqm unit. I did not opt for any doors, flooring tiles and vanity from HDB.*

Many people have the impression that after collection of money from the customer, many ID will not be interested with you anymore. Thank GOD, Candice is the responsible type. A month before we collect our keys, she took her own initiative to start a Whatpps chatgroup for easy communication. She prompted us on the timeline so we can work with our schedules. Subsequently, we have few more discussion before we received our 3D drawings. We were satisfied with the design as she could project my concept really well. Throughout the renovation period, Candice constantly monitored the progression of the renovation work. She even handles all the vendors delivery. Her thoughtfulness has eased us from our work schedule. The house was handed over promptly with no complain. If there is a grading system, we will give them 9/10. It is not perfect 10 because I believe there is no perfect renovation work. Definitely there will have some issue, but it all depends on how was the situation managed.

We absolutely love our home! It was exactly the way we envisioned it to be. Thank you Darren Lim, our Interior Designer (ID), and his team from Sky Creation for making our dream home come true!

My husband and I decided to engage an ID as we needed an expert to coordinate and manage our renovation project. With 26 years of experience in this industry, Darren is definitely the ideal ID for the best advices. As a veteran, he would always advise us on the most feasible, practical and economical way for our renovation.

The renovation journey can be arduous. We were grateful to have found ourselves such a professional, competent and easy-going ID to help us oversee the entire process. Thank you Darren and his team for delivering their best for every aspect of this journey (from ideation, design to renovation works).

It is never easy to handle a client with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I was extremely particular about everything (misalignment, scratches, stains, dirt, etc), but Darren was extremely patient with all my requests. He was swift in liaising with his contractors and suppliers to make rectifications. His contractors (including the carpenter, electrician, plumber, painter, cleaner, etc) were hardworking and attentive to our needs.

All in all, it was a pleasant renovation journey for us! We would like to express our utmost appreciation to Darren and his team for their hard work. Darren is truly a great asset to the company and we would highly recommend him to be anyone's ID!

Defect inspection seem to be more popular topic recently as most of us are collecting our keys with excitement. New neighbours had also started sharing their respective experiences on their defeat inspection with us.

For us, we had chosen our ID, Sky Creation to conduct the comprehensive home inspection for us to ensure that our house abides the industry guidelines for quality standards before we even embark on renovations.

The scope of defeat inspection were carried out by Josh Lim and Brice Ong (Sky Creation) includes visual defects like stains and scratches, architectural defects like hollow tiles, cracks, gaps, poor fittings and poor joints, etc...

With their expertise and being meticulous in their job, the whole process of the defect inspection is so hassle-free and worries-free for us.

Josh Lim from Sky had been really Amazing! He is really patient and accommodating. He is always there to advise and most importantly, always contactable and responsive. The renovation went on really smoothly and he had been absolutely fantastic with all the follow up calls, schedules and payment was also very transparent. This is the 2nd time I'm doing a home renovation and I had so much problem with the previous ID firm who did a terrible job. That was the reason I had to do a second renovation in just 4+ years. So glad to have Josh on my project. Highly recommended!

Recently did my renovation for the resale flat I bought with Sky Creation. We were recommend Darren by my wife's friend who was very very fussy about details herself, this was a first sign on confidence we had. Upon meeting Darren, he gave us very good vibes with his sincerity and experience as he described to us his past works and also the company profile giving us assurances that the company is well established and would not run away with our funds.

For the renovation process itself, Darren had a few projects on going at the time and we had to chase him a bit for updates on things. This was expected as he was their Head of Quality Control as well. He was very open to hear our wants and was very helpful in guiding us to building our dream home. Darren is definitely not a 'Yes Man', with his experience he was able to let us know if the things we wanted to do was not feasible and offered alternative solutions with our style choices in mind.

Overall there was a slight delay in our renovations and we were handed over the flat just a day before our furniture moved in. It was a relatively pleasant experience and if we do have future renovations to do we would engage Darren again.

We will like to thank Wing for helping us create our dream home! She has been very patient and accommodating and never fails to reply our messages even during weekends or late hours. We didn’t have to worry much knowing that our house is in her good hands. We would like to thank Kaze from Sky Creation for his dedication, professionalism and patience for creating our dream home. We have searched for many renovation firms, read countless reviews and met many IDs. Read a lot of online reviews on how other ID firms did a lousy job or ran away with the deposits. We were worried and waited at least 1 month plus before deciding.

We finally decided on Kaze as he left us a good impression. We told him about our ideas for the new home. Instead of pushing ideas to us like what other IDs did, he gave us sound advice based on his experience. Ultimately, the decision on the design is still up to us. Furthermore, the company is well-established and this made us more at ease to trust him.

During the renovation process, he was there to guide the team on some occasions. Being the meticulous type, I went there almost everyday to check on the progress and text Kaze if there are any changes or comments. He was quick to respond and put my mind at ease even though he was managing a few projects. He was able to provide great advice on colours for the furnitures to match the home design.

Overall, he was able to handover the flat without any delays. After handover, most IDs will just ignore. Kaze will still reply and help us with any small defects after moving in. We are very fortunate to have met Kaze and will definitely recommend him to friends and family if they are looking for a responsible and professional ID.

We would like to thank both Shim & Daniel from Sky Creation for the outstanding job that they did in the renovation of our new 5-room BTO in Marsiling Greenview. The building of storage space was our top priority so the renovation involved a lot of carpentry work.

Sky Creation was selected (out of the 5 IDs that we talked to) because during the initial discussions, they were the only ones who did not blindly say "yes" to everything that we wanted. Instead, they would explain why our idea is not practical (i.e. may lead to a very claustrophobic space etc) and counter-propose an alternative arrangement that could also meet our requirements.

In order for us to move in during a 良辰吉日, they were under a tight schedule. However, they continued to provide excellent service and they managed the timeline (and contractors - flooring, painting, masonry, electrical, aircon, plumbing, carpentry, window grills, window blinds etc) so well such that everything was completed one week ahead of schedule, giving us ample time arrange delivery of our new furniture and appliances. Furthermore, everything (from initial defects-checking, to flooring, to carpentry etc) was done / built to our satisfaction.

I would recommend Sky Creation to anyone who wants to have both peace of mind and a positive renovation experience.

2 Thumbs up to Brice & Josh from Sky Creation

Came to know Brice and Josh in May last year when my wife and I visited Sky creation in-house showroom in Ubi. My priority was to design a presentable displayed cabinet *to showcase my antique collections and also to provide me ideas to display my paintings on the 4.8m high ceiling wall. We signed out and paid the 2k deposit immediately after their impressive presentation.

It was followed by lots of meetings and discussions, several trips to the lightings, tiles and sanitary shops etc. They were patience enough to tolerate my impromptu ideas which disrupted their initial planning designs. The renovation was started in October and ended in early December. Many months of interaction with both of them I came to realised I. D’s job was arduous as they need to juggle several tasks, customers’ expectations, technical issues at one time. With their tight schedule Brice and Josh were able to accede to my requests.

After the completion of renovation, Brice even provided after sale support such as calling his plumbers and vinyl workers back to help me to fix the toilet accessories and repair the damaged floor caused by moving, most of his workers on site were patience, meticulous and performed beyond our expectations. This clearly shows that this ID team is committed to provide good service to take care of every nook and cranny of the renovation project. Special thanks to the painter boss "David" who has trained his men well.

I believe with Brice and Josh positive attitudes, strong commitment and passion for their jobs, they are able to generate repeat customers, develop loyalty among customers and attract more new customers. They deserve the thumbs up from us.

My personal experience with Sky Creations. I was looking for an ID before I received my keys last year for my condo and was introduced to Kaze by a friend. We started off discussing about my ideal theme and things I was looking for in a house and the kind of lifestyle I wanted. Kaze was good at listening and understanding my needs.

Based on a few conversations, he was able to grasp the ideas that fulfilled my wants for a dream home. It took a couple of meetings to discuss on the details but I was already quite assured that I could leave the reno work to Kaze. Price may not be the cheapest of all but I am very very glad with the quality of products and services that I received. He followed through all the correspondences as much as possible, liaised with the contractor, electrician, carpenter, management office and contractor, furniture companies that I bought from to coordinate for all the matters. He was very trust-worthy and delivered all as promised, went extra miles to find ways to fine-tune areas like defects and on my additional requests. I was not worried at all with the house as I know he would follow up thoroughly and eventually handover nicely. The house was handed over in time. Kaze even encouraged me to try to use everything and feedback if there is any issues so that he could fix them for my comfort.

I heard too many stories among friends about lousy, over-promising IDs or contractors and ended up they had to pay money but did all the coordination themselves.

It is the promptness, professionalism, dedication that impressed me. Not only him, the team (from carpenter, electrician, painters etc) consists of people who share the same values as him. I am very much a hassle free and happy owner after I signed up with Kaze (of course there were times that I had to participate as an owner).

Thanks again for his work looking after this home. Would recommend Kaze to anyone who is looking for renovation and ID and those who share the same values as me. Give it a try to speak with him. I wish him and the team very best at what they are doing.
