Updates about my experience.. eventually the photographer did edit and burn another set of pictures for me, but all damage was done. Even though the pictures were claim 'not under expose' with the line graphics and all, but visually aesthetics look it IS over exposed. Not much things can be done, except if you ask me if I would recommend? Definitely a NO, I would recommend brides here to spend slightly abit more to get what is value for.

Hi Jadieee,

This is Jed from The Missing Pieces.

First of all, we apologise for the late reply as we are not aware of your posting until one of our clients directed us here.

We apologise for the delay in delivering your photos due to the peak period during the last quarter of the year and coincidentally with CNY and reservist. As regards to the overexposed images, we should have mentioned on our first meeting that we usually provide higher contrast images which do feel like overexposed on the highlights but not to the extend of losing details and washed out, therefore, we showed you the histograms while reviewing the images and it shows indications within the safe exposure. Even so, we are more than happy to edit the photos further to your preferences.

As for the payment, it is agreed that final payment has to be made on the day of delivery which is in late Feb. However, after delivering the photos to you, you assured me the payment will be transferred to me that day but it was not. After which you mentioned about the images that require further editing. Since the whole set of images is already provided to you, I would assume it makes sense to receive the balance payment from you before we work on your images further. Then you mentioned the balance payment can only be made after your pay day which we agreed on providing a new set of images for the balance payment which results in the delay mentioned. I believe I could have handle it better, and I apologise for the miscommunication in the payment terms.

Last but not least, we would wish all our wedding couples to love the images we took and how we post process them. I am not sure if the final delivered images still look overexposed to you but you reassured me that they looked fine after the additional edit when I showed them to you. As mentioned by your designer, there is nothing much you can do to overexposed images, he is right, but the images provided to you are not overexposed. They are correctly exposed when taken by our photographer, just that we enhance the contrast, so there are still plenty of room for us to darken it while preserving the details.

Since this reply is far 'overdue', I will text you to inform you about this and I hope I can help with the images should there be further edit necessary.

We had a great time working on your wedding and we wish the best for you guys too! Hence, do let us know on the images :)

Thanks and Happy 2015!

Hi Jed,

Thanks for addressing such 'overdue' post/review here.

Like you have mention since you have already prove 'technically' (with all the histogram and whatsnot) it is not overexpose but to me aesthetically it still looks overexposed and after the edit I still didn't really like the photos (cos it looks burn) but I just let it pass and let it over because, I dont want to make the matter big.. I just want to be happily married (that's all it matters right?) and lead my life.. even I make it big there is nothing that could be done. Will I get my refund back? I doubt so. Can I rewind my wedding to retake everything? Definitely not. Can you edit the photos again? Yes, you can. But will I want to? No, I have lost faith in it because if you can do it better, the 2nd edits I should be satisfied. And I dont want to go through the whole painful process again for the third time.

I know how good a picture looks and taken, is subjective to each and everyone. Therefore those who wish to consider The Missing Pieces, feel free to PM me at jade.yl@hotmail.com (I don't check back) for the pictures and decide for yourself if you would like to hire them as your AD photographer.

Afterall this is just my honest opinion and review, trying to help (if I could offer any) other brides and hope they would look their best, and capture these once in a lifetime moments in the best way possible.

Hi Johnathan,

Sorry for the late reply as I am not too active here since I'm already married.. :/

Anyway thanks for the complement and yes that is the album. Well, that are just less than a handful of pictures.. total I have a few hundreds of picture (i think 200 -300 plus?) can't really rmb.. but most of the group pictures turn out like this...

Tell me if is not overexposed and no contrast? I let the BTB here to judge.

Hi Jadiee,
its okay, you are not suppose to be active here, ill be worried if you are! :)
On the photos, my 2 cents, first one look quite ok on my ipad, 2nd one is probably too light, contrast looks fine or "accurate" for both. anyway these are my personal opinions and the photos can be edited if you like it darker. I don't think its as bad as you mentioned previously about being "burned" or nothing you can do with overexposed images.
are these the final copies sent to you as you mentioned the photographer did provide a 2nd copy to darken these photos?
cheers~

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for your input. yea, that's why when Jed pointed out with the graph/histogram and all that is within the 'not overexposed' zone i didn't kick up a big fuss. Just that visually like i mention it is overexposed aka too bright/light etc and I really don't like it. Those are the 1st set originally given to me, and here's are the edited ones. It is still very bright and my face somehow it just looks like I've got a tan.. lol.. that's my meaning of looking burned - chao tar. Anyway, like I've said earlier, all these are my personal opnions, and not meant to pin point at anybody (or out to make him lose business). Every's one preference are different but here's mine, just sharing my opnion, means no harm.

And hi misssofie, by having no contrast is as per the 3rd picture. Seriously, I LOVE THAT PICTURE and i got to agree that is very nicely taken! But sadly, it is the one and only out of the 300+ photos and it is not me and my husband.. Hahaha.. It was my emcee.. I painstakingly contacted the supplier and change the background not oringated from the hotel's theme just cos I love that kind of background... But all the rest of the background turn out like what you see on the other 2 photos, which is quite disappointing for me. Maybe I set a too high standard and expected nicer pictures, but if you think are fine then so be it. I'm pretty sure you will be equally 'over reacting' if your pictures doesn't turn out as what you have expected. Afterall, everyone's expectation are different.

Cheers~

Hi Jadiee,

I know you probably have done this but I just want to check if you had viewed the images on diff computer, laptop or phones? the photos do look decent on my ipad but a little less contrasty on my company's laptop. exposure still quite accurate thou.

jadieee, u posted the first 2 photos and said theres no contrast, now u say its for the 3rd photos that was not even shown earlier? haha u are quite contradicting thou. hav u mentioned to the photographer that you specially changed the background and would like a picture of u and ur husband in it, if u didn't, u cant expect him to read ur mind rite? im not sure what is disappointing in the background of the first 2 photos cos I cant see the 3rd photo u posted, cant do any comparison here. you r rite tat everyones expectation is diff, tats why u shld hav done ur due diligence to compare portfolios n find the rite photographer tat suit ur style/expectations? n nt going for a cheap(as wat u mentioned) n set a high expectations n actually hope u be happy?
