1) Location: good with city hall MRT below.
2) Parking: tough, have to fight with shoppers.
3) Food: average
4) senior staff : experienced and can handle big weddings
4) serving staff: service depends on the the part time staff they hired at the point of time.
5) 4 big weddings can be held at the same time and your guest can be confuse by which wedding to go to.
6) Hotel suite: room with nice view.

Me too keen on fairmont, but can't find anything much from their website. Any idea they normally have open house when?

Hi tanshirlyn, they are having showcase this coming sunday

I'm new on this forum. I'm seriously considering Fairmont! Good location, food review not too bad, but feel that their perks not generous enough. What are the good perks you've managed to get? Can anyone PM me? so I can nego better for the upcoming showcase.

Thanks in advance !!!

Hi All,

Just want to share my experience with Fairmont as I went to view the place on 18 June.
I'm looking at Q3 2014 Sunday Dinner for around 20 to 25 tables and the cheapest table is $1159++. I do have the quotation and if anyone is keen to have a look, I can send it to you.

Good and Bad point about Fairmont:

Good - The Atrium ballroom is at a corner and you have the area to yourself which is quite exclusive. Toilets are located within the ballroom so your guests or yourself don't have to walk across to the other end to use it. There is customize ice sculpture decked with fruits and vegetable for your guests as "tibits" on the wedding guests which I find it quite cute lah. The location is good as its at City Hall MRT. The wedding invite given is quite nice and is inclusive of printing which not all hotels will provide. Some of the wedding decorations available are quite nice.

Bad:
- Low Celling and I have this gloomy feeling when I step in (perhaps is due to the lighting).
- The March In entrance is from the back door and is quite short (Not sure how the back door will look like but I have a feeling it will not be nice if you happened to take a few pictures there).
- The services provided by the Event department - The event coordinator repeatedly emphasis to me that her working hours are office timing and request me to go down during Monday - Friday before 6pm. I request for Weekend like Saturday and she can only commit to a particular day and timing TBA. I feel pretty disappointed and offended by this as I feel that you are in Hotel industry and specialize in doing Event, yet your working hours are not flexible and request your potential customers to take a day off to meet you and accommodate to your schedule. Services like this is not what I expect from Fairmont.

I attended my friend's wedding @ Fairmont, and quite like the overall spacious look and high ceiling. I like how the lights shine individually onto each table in a dim manner, like spotlights. However, there was only 1 projector screen i think, like if you need to show montages, express highlights etc... there's a limitation there.

i went there and i find the wedding show okay. the food, drinks and the service really improved compared to their past wedding shows. their packages are a bit expensive but i think it's worth the pay.

For banquet are so bad and the staff also very bad.
Here is what my experience.

I just hold my wedding dinner banquet last sat.

1) Their av system cork up. 1st mar in there is no image but with sound, 2nd mar in there was image but no sound. We have done few times of test b4 all the guest enter, everything was fine. One of the staff asked my av helper that he can settle every thing here, ask my helper to go out n relax. After 1st mar in thing got screw up, the manager blame on our laptop problem, if there's problem with our laptop, first you should have inform us. I believe the staff adjusted n touches the laptop while nobody around. There's why once we click play there's no image for the 1st mar in.

2) Their service totally sucks, all of my guest feedback was their service not up to standard. Some tables of their fish was cut by the server, some are not cut. One of the guest request the server to cut, server told my guest there he will check with the manager b4 they can cut. Another of my guest asked for a drink and the server reply "I'm busy right now". Just a simple thing yet they can't do it. All of my guest are so unhappy about their service. Server keep dropping the fork on the floor, just beside my guest.

3) food was cold when they serve. I feedback to the manager, yet the manager told me my guest are not around when they serve the food. Which the truth was not that they not around. All 10pax of the guest are at their tables. How can a manager defending their staff, n suspect my guest are lying! This is totally unacceptable and ridiculous! Such a 5star hotel gave suck a low standard service. They do train their staff more b4 they let them go on the floor! Not just hired a few people because they short of manpower.

4) The management doesn't take my feedback into consideration. Till now did not revert back. I'm still waiting for their replies!

May I know what are the wedding perks that you all have gotten when you went to their Wedding Fair in 2014? We intend to hold our wedding at Fairmont Swissotel in 2016, and will be going for their upcoming wedding fair in 2015.

Many thanks in adv!
