Hi XHAC,
Thanks for sharing...
Hi JoyceBryan,
No problem.
When are you all deciding to travel in April? So you all are taking photos in Kaoshiung or at Kenting I suppose?
Hi XHAC,
Thanks for sharing...
Hi, I have posted this reply somewhere in this forum, so will be repeating here.
I have signed up with Cang Ai and very satisfied with their services. I just came back from Taiwan - Kaohsiung; the service of the makeup artists, photographers & their assistants, the gown assistants, retail and sales staff are superb. I am really pleased and very impressed.
Pricing - not too sure of your budget, but they are open with what to pay upfront and over in Kaohsiung. So I have no issues with any hidden costs or things like that. I did not bring eyelashes or ampoules over as I feel that if the makeup artists can earn a little bit and do a superb job, I don't mind. But fyi, I spent about $400 on these items (total I think I have used 5-6 pairs of lashes and bought 12 ampoules , some to bring back for my actual day). So it really depends if you wanna bring along.
Reputation & class of the bridal - Their bridal shop is situated at their "town area" - like @ our own orchard road. Building looks like LV flagship store at night.. haha.. Total 4 storeys.. including their rooftop which is renovated into nice areas for indoor photoshoot.
Their customers - Those I have seen are well-mannered and not picky and pretty.
Their Gown in charge and assistants – they are patience and choose really nice gowns for you to try on and not pushy to ask you to top up more gowns. They have at least 6 – 7 racks for you to choose from. I asked to top up more gowns on top of my package for more styles. However gowns preference is subjective, so you may wish to go down to Cang Ai Singapore to have a feel.
Their makeup and hair artists and assistants (total I think they are 10 of them) – imagine they have one area for 6 – 8 brides to doll up at the same time. I was one of them that day. Their skills are superb.. just like what we have seen on those Taiwan variety shows.. flawless.. pretty.. exceeded my expectations.. They are attentive and know what I want, I guess because they are mostly experienced. I chit chat with them and found out that they are working there for years…
Photographers and their assistants – Professional, fun-loving, make us feel relax – think that is really important bcos initally my hubby and I are stiff and dunno how to pose. Haha.. after one day of “training” by them, we can really pose nicely now.. sharp chin and natural poses. Hahaha.. Most importantly, pictures taken by them are really nice.. I like most of them.. topping up photos is a challenge bcos as always unless you are cash rich and prepare to top up, if not really need to close both eyes and delete as much nice photos as possible.. lol… But the pricings they charge are reasonable compared to my friends at other bridals so total I took up about 200 pics.
Put the above asides, I feel that as long as you have set aside some budget (intial package prices and for photo top up), just choose one bridal which you are comfortable with. Ask them upfront what to pay now and then.. Afterwhich just enjoy the photoshoot process and leave everything to them.
Sorry for the long post.. but personally I feel that I will recommend you to CangAi Kaohsiung. My 2 cents..![]()
Hi XHAC,
Thanks. I think I would need to prepared additional for the additional charges and additional photos.
Hi Unusal,
I am deciding to go in April too... Maybe we might see each other there. When is your exact dates of travelling?
Hi all,
We had signed up for Cangai bridal package pre-wedding shot (SG and TW) and AD package and have some questions.
1 - We will be going to TW (Taipei) in mid march for photoshot, just meet up with my coordinator (Jia Jia) and was told to pay up (90% of package price including the deposit) before we fly off to TW for photo shot. I am just wondering is this how it is as I am abit worried to pay up to 90% now without even taking a single photo yet.
2 - I have requested for Xiao Jing as the MUA. I just called her and she told me she will be available on my AD which is great however she highlighted that on my AD Xiao Jing will be double booked along with another couple and our time will need to be flexible.
I am thinking, how can the timing be flexible if both of the timing are similar including traveling time etc. So I told the coordinator that in this scenario, one of the couple will need to sacrifice (Worst scenario if time clashes) to wake up much earlier to have makeup/hairdo done. Then my coordinator told me if this is not acceptable then change MUA.
I am disappointed as my coordinator should have help and try her best to give me a good experience without worrying etc. However, she just tell me to change MUA.
I just feel that her enthusiasm to help us seems to have drop which I hope this is just a one off experience (Maybe her bad day).
3 - What are the hotels in taipei recommended? I have search and find FX Hotel and Hotel 73 not bad, thou not very near Da An station but its just another 5-10mins drive away so should be fine.
Lastly, I really do hope that I have an enjoyable experience with Cang Ai but this first step with them has really make me think twice.
Let's see how it goes.
Thanks.
Bryan.
Hi, we are going for the photoshoot in end May. My coordinator gave me a few hotels to choose from. We chose the Taipei Charming City Hotel. Within walking distance to Taipei CangAi and if you booked more than 3 nights, they give free airport transfer. Might want to consider.
So far, the experience with them is quite alright. My coordinator is Vicky.
