Deposits for Wedding Lunch

Hi all,

I'm planning to place my deposit for my wedding in 2012. According to the salesperson whom we contact inform us that the initial deposit is $5,000. Wondering if its the usual deposit rate cause we heard from other people that they only paid $1000 for their deposit.

D deposit amount charge by hotels varies. For d hotel I'm booking, it's standard $5 k regardless whether its weekday or weekend banquet.

There r some hotels that charge lesser. D least that I came across is $3k. Also, do note that some hotels may require u to pay 50% of ur remaining amount 1 mth before ur AD. So do ask ur coordinator on the payment procedure clearly b4 u sign with them.

We paid 3k deposit for the banquet. I guess like what Ms Teddy said, some venues charge a flat deposit. Hope you've got this sorted out! :)
