I am looking for honeymoon in Japan. Any advise for good timing?
We are thinking autumn / winter around Oct - Nov. We don't want Sakura season because it will be too crowded.
Any good tour? most tour are expensive :(

Hi ChloeW,

Autumn in Japan is a beautiful time to have a honeymoon. The nature is beautiful and its not too hot and humid like the summer and definitely not cold like January of February.
I would say a beautiful part of Japan during this time is Hakone and Kyoto. Maybe stay a day or two at a ryokan instead of a hotel. Go to an onsen, too. Tokyo is always a place you should visit, a lot of restaurants and cafes open their terraces and provide blankets and heaters if it gets a bit chilly during the cooler months.
Also, to be honest, I would say just do research on blogs, reviews, etc on Japan and do your own tour without a tour company. English is not usually a problem- signs, directions, menus, etc can be found in English, Chinese, and Korean and if anything, people are usually more than willing to help!

now I heard most people recommend to avoid Japan if we want to get pregnant soon. They said the radiation still exist and it will pose some issue with the baby .

Yeah that's what i heard from others too. If anyone is pregnant, try to avoid Japan for the time being and go after that when you ladies are not pregnant :)

I'm currently planning for a Japan honeymoon with my HTB in early Nov this year :) You may want to travel to Kyoto for a ryokan and kimono experience. Can wear Kimono & walk around Kyoto for half a day and visit Inari Shrine & Bamboo forest :) We will also be heading to Hakone for their Onsen too cuz you will have a view overlooking Mount Fuji. These 2 places are worth considering. Avoid December & January though as it is too cold.

Otherwise you can try out Hokkaido during July & August. Most of the flowers in Farm Tomita are in full bloom like lavender and sunflower. Very beautiful sight :)

Didn't book through a tour agency when I went there last year so couldn't recommend one. You may want to read up Japan-Guide for more info! :D
