pls share your experiences with interior design companies and contractors

Hi all,
I've heard of some negative stories from my friends about poor workmanship and contractors who went back on their words, charging more than what was agreed on before the start of the project.

I wish to start this thread to get everyone who have had very bad or really good experiences with various interior design companies or contractors. I'm currently looking for an ID & contractor for my 4/rm resale flat and i'm totally spoilt for choices as there are simply too many interior design companies in sg. And it seems really difficult for me to get really helpful reviews on the ID companies/contractors on the internet.

So, does anyone have any good ID/Contractors to reccommend, to shun any ID company or contractor or any good advises for those out there who are sourcing for one? Thank you

hi Lleenn, i paid about 50k for my condo's ID.. they did a lot of things from curtains, TV section etc.. basically what they did was design it out and then listed the works to be done. a professional ID should do a check of your house first to see what may go wrong during the process. I had quite a few areas i had to fix before it could be done well

something to share. i got a good curtains deal for my whole 4 room flat less than 1k.

Singapore Curtains Pte Ltd (you can google them!)

the sales man is a nice guy that gives free quotation and design guides.
in fact we found one cheaper thn what they quote and cloth is nicer but eventually i told them and they offered to look for the cloth and requote us !! which is in the end lower thn the other curtain man, hehehe.

well, i am posting here cos i felt his passion and gd service.
he seems a boor man but he is nice.. =)

thanks to him! our curtains brightens the whole living rm!

No, Personally I've never experienced any fraud from ID and contractor.

If you are unsure about ID which you are going to hire, first go through his previous ID projects - budget, meet the people where he has done ID or have telecon etc, might help you.

i think expectation is v impt... some ppl think 50k is alot while in actual fact may not really get a good contractor..

and some ppl i met are v satisfied with their 20k renovation..

end day i feel getting reliable contractor is most impt

and the easiest way to get the best contractor or ID is through referral

Hi guys, I do know of a contractor which you guys can try to contact for quotations.
This contractor I know not only does carpentry works, but also residential renovations as well.

I know of this contractor(a Bangladeshi) who does renovation work. And he doesn't charge too high for his work also.

If you want simple renovation you can look for him. Mr. Habib, tel: 90564573.
