River View Hotel or Furma RiverFront or Parkroyal (Kitchere Rd) or Tung Lok @orchard

Hi,

Am new in this forum. Am planning for wedding banquet for next yr 2012 & due to my budget so i pick up these few option.
Pls help to advise which of the above choice is the best?

do your guests mind whether it's hotel or restaurant? I prefer River View Hotel because the surrounding is more classy looking. (beside singapore river)

actually i do not mind whether it's hotel or restaurant. is my parents. my respect them.
actually there is 1 tung lok @orchard parade hotel.
am not veri sure which to choose.

if you shortlist according to price already, best to go down and see the ballrooms. Foodwise ive only tried Tunglok, it's really pretty good. If possible, try to get pillar-less ball room to prevent blindspot for guests. Last time i attended a wedding i sat behind a pillar and my view got blocked haha.

i dont really like the ballroom @ orchard parade but i remember the food was nice when i went there last year...

i quite like the Furama riverfront poolside Mercury ballroom.. though it has huge pillar and low ceiling... they have 3 projectors..

Hi, if you want a hotel banquet, I suggest taking Furama Riverfront. They have got a very spacious & posh ballroom with high ceilings and most importantly, it is a pillarless room and the scenery out the hotel is quite nice, not much of a hustle and bustle even it is located in the city. As for River View, their ballroom's ceiling is low, pillared and the lightings are quite dim. And for Park Royal @Kitchener Rd, it seemed fine but the location is weird because it is very near Mustaffa centre and is within the little india area, so the crowd is bit rowdy. Lastly, if you prefer a less hotel style of banquet celebration, go ahead and take Tunglok @Orchard, since their food is nice. So it really depends if you, your spouse & your family members prefer more for a good location or good food in mind. Think about it carefully before making the next move. Have fun and cheers. im oso looking at similar venues, went to see furama n riverview. their ballroom is v old and weary. whereas orchard parade's ballroom jus renovate, price oso reasonable.
