hi all, do you know if the gss period is a better time to buy wedding bands? Or it wouldn't make any difference whether we buy it now or later?

Also, any shops to recommend for pave eternity diamonds wedding band?

i was thinking if GSS b gd too, but seem like nt much diff cos they dun give special discount then. Plus wedding band is considered 'other category' so discount is quite std..but buying early is quite ok too, cos gold price keep rising... for jewelry, best to get it sooner... especially the 4 dian jin... I bought my set last yr during GSS, 4 mths later my MIL bought another set..gold price went frm $68 - $72/ grm... But anw, latest no later than 9 wks cos sometimes customise, engraving will take time...

Like e1a1n3, I would suggest getting wedding bands and 4 dian jin earlier too. Gold price has been increasing. Hence, the cost of white gold will increase. I bought my 4 dian jin last year though my wedding is still a few months later.

agree with ela1n3 and princesssy.. buy as early as you can!
Prices will keep going up for both gold and diamond. Sales on jewellery especially wedding bands are pretty miserable, and not much discount is given.

Hi all, thanks for the replies! Haven't given thought on the 4 Dian Jin yet, but u all reminded me! Btw, after a good research, if u have small fingers & want diamonds in ur band, might be better to go for handcrafted rings!

ya i bought mine at $73/gram for 916 but now it's already $80.50/gram for 916. The retail gold price pretty standardised in singapore,depend on your bargaining power on the labour cost. I bought mine at a pretty good deal. :)

it depends on where you get the bands from, Love & Co is nett price so they wont have discounts even during GSS. decided to not wait for GSS and just get it on the spot when the consultant said at most they will give some gifts during GSS period haha. my ring size is very small and most jewelers dont carry that size so get it earlier better -can custom make and do the necc engraving :)

Hi ppeanut,

I think it is perfectly fine, nowadays, couples mix and match.. Even though the bands you see at the jewellery shop, its mix and match by them too, not all comes in a pair, especially if your hubby is taking a plain one, you can feel free to choose the designs you like..

Don't worry so much about buying them separately, I feel that you should be happy, comfortable and satisfied with it since you are gonna wear it forever... :)

Remember to bargain for free wedding pillow/guest book if you are buying them separately.. Usually they will only give it away if you buy a pair from them, but again, BARGAIN!!! =)))
