Wedding banquet at Qian Xi

I've booked mine at farre park qian xi AD July 2013. Picked there as their diamond ballroom is really nice and a really huge reception area that's separated from other ballrooms. And this ballroom comes with chandeliers! One of the main reason why I chose here.

The only thing I'm not satisfied is the deco and colour theme. They only have red, gold, purple and blue. As their carpet is a mixture of yellow and red, using a combination of red and gold for the tables makes the place looks boring. And there's not much deco, the aisle is lined with arch that's decorated with fake flowers. Am still contemplating if I should cater for an external decorator.

Overall, we both love the ballroom.

I call up Qian xi they say Ferrer park can host 10 - 15 tables no prob

i just attended a wedding dinner 2 saturdays ago at qian xi - farrer park. my SO was stuck at their basement carpark for nearly 1 hour, no valet came to help him, he was left stranded downstairs cos the carpark was super messy. the security guards were super lousy in directing the cars into and along the road outside the civil service club.
the ballroom was super cold, the food served was not tasty, the waitress serving our table was grumpy, the warm water that i had had ants inside, i asked for a changed of water, she came back with the same glass of warm water, with more ants, i had to tell her to change the whole glass, plus the warm water jug.
she came back again with a glass of pipping hot water.
i'll never host or advise ppl to have their wedding dinner at qian xi - farrer park.

hello Lonelycat, I attended a wedding there about 2 years ago. The food was VERY good, but I can't say so for the service. It's not major rude or anything but basically the servers are mostly aunties in their 40s to 50s and they serve with a black face.
the setup is pretty dated though, not much of a theme to speak about..

Other than that, the food was very impressive. Hope this helps

I'll be having mine at the expo march 2012. Glad to hear good reviews. I have been to several Qianxi for dinners and the food are nice, something those old folks will like.

Do we need to have deco? I thought the ballroom looks ok..... Any advice?

Hihi....so sorry I didn't realise I have a typo. My AD is March 2013!!!
So I can't tell you my experience yet.
I have been to other Qianxi as well as this one at Expo for compnay functions and a wedding. Bascially the food is nice. The menu is those elders would like have. Not sure about the deco yet. They don't provide wedding favours so you need to source on your own.

i book my at qian xi also at kallang de for dec 2013. carpark is huge. guest come no prob with parking , kallang area the hall look nice thru pic )

i just booked mine at expo last week. =0 the dates in 2013 they say filling fast. haha.. coz couples now want budget.. lucky i booked.. if not later dont have ah!

i find their food quite good. i decided on qian xi coz i just attended a birthday dinner by my uncle there.

but if u got many tables, u can consider farrer park diamond ballroom. its damned damned nice. too bad my tables not enough.. =( if not i sure take it.

i no review.. coz i havent hold my wedding yet.. but hor, i find the upstairs ball room nice.. i think that the downstairs one very ugly!!!! convinece... should be okie bah.. mrt walking distance.. only problem will be parking.

Hi All, for those who had their wedding at Qian Xi Expo, how do you find the march in? I've been to the venue, and find the distance between the door and the stage too short. What do you gals think? Did anyone of you modified the layout for march in? my AD is in March 2014.
