Wedding Ring

I feel that even though it may be superficial to judge love by the price of the wedding ring, it's been an accepted to get one that costs more than 1 mth of ur salary. For example if u earn 2K, ard a 2K-4K ring is expected. However, if u are a high income earner, say 20K, I think it would be fine to buy 1 below 20K? It's a bit over to buy a 20-40K ring. Can spend it on other shared items like the home.

actually i felt there is no need to overspend on wedding ring, even though the 'rule" said buy more than 1 month.I would rather use the extra cash to save up for other purposes such as house, renovation..etc which is more practical, esp in today high cost of living. There are more cost to come when you start a family with children.

Yeah.. it's just a marketing gimmick.. and it does not mean the bigger the diamond the better... Like for me, I don't like it too big.. It will will look too gawdy on my finger..

i agree with rain.bow too, doesnt have to be exp to look good.

My ring costed less than S$4.5K in total, centre diamond 0.5ct VS2 E with halo-pave setting 0.27ct. Imo, the price seems reasonable enough. ^^;

You should avoid those IGI / EGL certificates. Best is stick with GIA. IGI and EGL certificates are known to have lower standards and are not as strict as GIA.

any idea how much roughly is the love and co wedding rings? below 5k or above 5k usually?

It really depends on the size you are looking at.. but one thing that turned me off about Love and co is their IGI diamonds... the salesgirl kept insisting that it is the same as GIA... luckily I went home to do some checking... I'm going to visit Jann Paul next week. Hopefully they can give me a better explanation..

A place to recommend. eClarity who does customise rings. Diamond with certificate and it's cheaper than those conventional ones selling in the retail. With the same price at retail, u could get better at eClarity. I got my wedding bands there. Located at shaw.

Hi Everyone I think the Celestial range is great too. I got my proposal ring from the Starburst series and the sparkle is really good.

You can try JannPaul.. I'm customizing my ring with them.. One thing about them is they give a good diamond education session to teach you things to avoid.. didn't know there were so many things to look out for! Like round carat sizes. lol.
