JannPaul is really good and worth the buck. the bf got a 1.01ct, solitaire cut for close to 15k. colour is g, with their signature super ideal cut. Another friend of mine got hers at Larry's (from HK).

for commerical retailers, i've got a number of friends getting their at Love&Co.

Wow.. a 1ct ring! So lucky! You got a photo how it looks like on your hand?

Its nice but it might be too complicated.. they're helping me to customize one with white and rose gold mix but more simple :)

For diamond ring, if you are particular about the diamond itself, i suggest that you go to Jewelers instead of the normal Lee Hwa, Tian Po jewelry shop. I made my engagement ring at a shop located at paragon, shop name H. Sena, you can chose from their loose diamond with the carat weight or cut you like and have them make the ring for you. I've made a cushion cut engagement ring with them and with the price I paid for my ring, I wouldn't be able to get the same carat weight with the normal Jewelry shops.

Thanks for your tip! Really helpful!

Hi, I got mine from Lee Hwa under Forevermark. The grade and cutting was good. You may go down directly and check it out.

Thanks! haha.

In the end, we decided to go for a simple side diamond setting in white gold only..

This is how it's suppose to turn out

You can check if the proportions is ok with the HCA tool.
http://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca
Best is to find one with a HCA score below 1.4

After that, you'll need to check the diamond with the Aset and Hearts/Arrows scope.

Thanks for your feedback! So this is not an Ideal cut? They recommended me this as their Ideal cut diamond with 3 Excellent grading.
They showed me a "very good" cut which is cheaper for me to consider too. But I can't see much difference. Is there a proper way I should look at diamonds??

Its becuz of the jewellery store lights my friend! The strong lights will make anything look good. You need to use the scopes to check the cut quality.

Most shops only have the Hearts and Arrows scope. You need to use the ASET scope to check the light performance.
