Its becuz of the jewellery store lights my friend! The strong lights will make anything look good. You need to use the scopes to check the cut quality.

Most shops only have the Hearts and Arrows scope. You need to use the ASET scope to check the light performance. We'll be checking out Jannpaul this weekend :)

Oo.. didnt think of that.. haha. So far all the chain stores I went to didn't explain anything about those scope.

On the certificate, both are almost the same.. but the quality is very different. If i didnt have the scopes, sure get chopped.

Went to jannpaul. Now I know why they're so popular here. Their diamond tutorials are very informative and useful. I think one of the most important thing I learnt from them is to avoid those flat number carat size like 1.00ct.. hahaha

I'm thinking of either one of their 2 signature cuts. The Octagon with the arrow patterning or the Octavia with the step cutting. Which shape you guys think is nicer?

Or which looks better on the hand?

I like the Octagon. I might be biased here cuz I got the octagon too
I didn't see the Octavia when I was there though.. is that a newer cut?

You see which one catches your eyes more.. Hard to tell from photos osso.. It can look different in photo and in real life.

Ya, both are new. Maybe the Octavia is newer? When did you get yours?
The Octavia is a E VS1 and the Octagon is a F VVS2. Carat is about the same.. Octavia is 0.03ct bigger but can't really tell the size difference.

Theyre going to do a 3d design of the setting I want on both diamonds.. then I see which diamond suits my design better then easier for me to make decision :)

The diamond samples look really great

Thanks! Ya, both are the actual diamonds that I'm considering.. Pity they cannot reserve both diamonds for me

Hi girls!

mind sharing where you bought your rings? :)

Bought ours from JannPaul. I recommend going for their diamond education first to learn more and then other shops to compare.
We found them to offer the best value and went back to them. They gave us the best bang for the buck without dropping the diamond quality.

Your scope images are beautiful. The light return is very good too. I'm sure it'll be a very shiny rock :)
I saw someone else bought the same diamond shape as yours on another forum. She customized her ring design and posted her ring photos there. It's very nice.
