Emike, have you booked the banquet venue yet? 1 year is good enough but do plan early on the things to prepare else if you leave them all to the last moment then it will be very rush and quite stressful.

Try to plan your wedding at least 1 year advance ...

Do forget you need to do research on what offer what, who offer cheaper prices, which "attracts" you ... etc

Moreover the earlier you start the more buffer time you have to solve anything "unpleasant" =x and further more prices of the wedding stuffs are getting more and more expensive as year pass.

Meaning if you start earlier, you pay less and save more $$$.

I agree with astutekitty - you have to do research on many things so it's good to start early.
(I learnt it the hard way! Bought a wedding package without researching, now i want to let go of the package but it's not easy...)

I am hoping to let go of my bridal package. Service so far is very good... what I meant by not researching is I didn't take in acct the views of my parents and future in laws before signing up. Now my fiance and I are going to have a simple wedding and we don't need many of the items in the package...
