I have a friend who gave birth 1.5 yrs ago. She tried for the longest time without success to slim down. Then, her husband came across an article on a special type of dieting. basically, minimise starch/sugars (even sugars from fruits are avoided). indeed, the author calls fruits as 'candies from trees', still bad.
the article advocates eating meat and animal fats. Vegetables, eat to your fill.
I was skeptical when i read the article. but, amazingly, my friend shed off all her pregnancy weight gain, and more! all within 3 weeks.
